This voting shows what was wrong with this poll. Although the title said best players in 2018/19, many voters didn't read that. 6 of 8 Canuck voters thought that Quinn Hughes in five games played was better than other players who appeared in 70 or 80 games. That is impossible to defend. They clearly didn't think that. They think or hope that in the future he will be valuable. One voter here thinks JT Miller is one of the five best Canucks now despite the fact that he didn't play any games with them in 2018/19.

The moral here is that what this voting means is unclear. It appears that a majority didn't notice the 2018/19 in the title and some did. Therefore the votes cast were for different things which in some cases are very different. A man with 5 games played is not one of the best players on your team in the season in which he only plays five games. I think the plans to do it immediately following the season next year will hopefully remedy this problem.

The 2019-2020 edition of this voting will be run in June 2020 after the 2020 Playoffs. The categories in which you can vote will be the same:

Top 5 players on your favorite team.
Top 10 players in the league.
Top 10 forwards in the league.
Top 10 defensemen in the league.
Top 5 goaltenders in the league.
Top 5 sportsmanlike players in the league.
Top 5 referees.
