So I voted Frost, and I don't think my vote would be different regardless, but this is the first year where I am wondering what the criteria is for top prospect? Closest to NHL ready? Highest ceiling? Most likely to reach the ceiling? Damn we have a lot of good prospects and this is going to be difficult!

It is just a combination. You have to weigh all those factors: upside, likelihood of reaching ceiling, floor, NHL ready, etc. You can probably find trends in people's rankings based on which of these factors they value most highly.

I just want to make a note that I am voting for Frost based on the kid I saw last year. Not the one that is going to eat himself out of the league. :sarcasm:

Love Myers but there is nearly a 2.5 year age gap here. He's very good, but not can't miss enough that I could place him above Frost.

Ha, maybe, I say a lot of stuff that I forget about three minutes later on here. But this is the first year it REALLY matters. Either way I am welling up just looking at this list. I swear to God in five years from now I don't want to look back at this list and see a bunch of turds that never did anything. That would be devastating.

Just look at that list and know that there might only be 4 NHL spots for the forwards the next 4 years if you re-sign Simmonds.

Ditto on the 1 and 2. Too tough to even choose. I can only group them in vague tiers beyond that anyway. One guy I'm curious about is Kase. It's easy to lose track of that little bugger.

I will open the 2nd poll soon since Frost is a clear winner.

This poll will remain open for four days.

I try to factor in ceiling, likelihood of achieving ceiling, and floor.

Yeah I kind of do it by trade value or building a franchise I think. I don't have a real system or criteria I just look at and think if I am starting a team or looking to acquire a player, who am I getting?

I've seen a decent amount of the top half and feel fairly confident about that order. The bottom half is mostly guessing based on what I've read or highlights.
