I agree with this totally. But this team has so many guys to look forward to :)
Peterek, Koffer, Lang, and even Pytlik are all really good players too. Really exciting group this year.
Especially if somebody as dominant as Adam Raska isn't on the team!!
It looks like a very good team. I enjoyed playing at the tournament in Poruba.

How teams are divided for Canada?

what is the process of selecting each team? (Black, White and Red)

On the official U17 Challenge page the roster is a bit different. There are no Pytlik and Jouza, replaced with Muzik and M. Beranek. Probably injuries. Interesting Raska didn't make it even with injuries. I was interested to see Pytlik as well.

EDIT: Seems like Pytlik and Jouza are there after all... not really sure anymore lol.

Just realized 2 out the 3 games Czechs are playing are played at the worst time possible, on top of that it seems the preliminary games aren't streamed. Damn

I assume no streams for the pre tourny? Would want to watch the CAN RED - USA game that is on currently more than any. All 3 CHL top picks on red (Lafreniere/Suzuki/Krebs) and we have a ton of talent on USA highlighted by Jack Hughes.

Hughes has an assist in the 1st so far and Krebs a goal in a 1-1 tie.

All three Canada squads lost. I know it's pre-tournament, but i'm just curious how long has Canada been splitting into 3 squads for?

It should stop, I agree.

Hockey has grown tremendously in other countries. There is a lot more parity in the Junior level.

Czech team beat Sweden 3-1 yesterday. Good chance this Swedish team won't win any games, terrible roster compared to last year.

Still on top!
Good lord.

I think it’s time to move to two Canadian squads instead of three. There’s no reason a Canadian team should be blown out in a tourney like this.

Why? They have a gold and silver in last 2 tournaments. The US did not medal in either of those despite being an actual "team".

Lol yeah Pytlik scored against Sweden so I was a little confused there haha. And yeah there's no good reason to keep Raska off the team. It's really weird. He's would probably be the most interesting player for to see.

Does anyone know whether the games will be stored and available to watch sometime later? I checked last year's tournament and none of the game summaries contain any video, although there is visibly a box made for it, so maybe it just got deleted over time?

I have no idea what this roster mess was supposed to be lol. Raska must have been really unimpressive at the 5 nations tournament earlier this season. Either way no doubt he's gonna get another chance at some of the other upcoming U17 tournaments.

I was about to ask how strong the Swedish 01s are supposed to be. Obviously it's only one game, but I can't recall the last time a Czech nat. team outshot the Swedish one by nearly double with more or less best-on-best rosters.

Well, I said it was "terrible" but that's probably stretching it. There are some solid top players like Söderström, Björnfot and Grewe but they are clearly not as good or as many as last years dito. There isn't much depth either and the goalies are by no means spectacular. The 02 age group looks much stronger so I expect we will see many underaged players when it's time for these guys to play at the U18 WC.

AFAIK the games would be on https://www.hockeytv.com/ so I'm not going to watch them.

Looks like they might be free? At least it's not asking to pay for anything when I clicked on the upcoming match. Might be worth checking out later.
Oh? Hmm, I guess that's possible. We'll see soon enough.
