Israel? Wow. I wonder how many Jewish Americans they have on the team?

Israel? Wow. I wonder how many Jewish Americans they have on the team?

Pretty much all of them, mostly minor leaguers but former major leaguers like Jason Marquis, Ike Davis, Craig Breslow. There is one player born in Israel, Shlomo Lipetz. Reading more on him he actually played baseball in Israel and managed to play at the junior college level in the US and continues to play semi-pro according to baseball reference :D

Lipetz stayed in the US, teaching at a Jewish school then working as the music programmer for City Winery in New York. He has continued to play baseball, primarily in semipro leagues in New York against primarily Dominicans and Puerto Ricans.

Now that they made the tournament they will approach more higher profile Jewish-Americans like Braun, Joc Pederson, Kinsler.

Stupid to you but i doubt it's stupid for those playing for Israel and Colombia.

I mean yeah, I do love the underdog aspect of it.

I just never got into the WBC. I realize every country other than the US really gets into it.

To me a short tournament doesn't translate well to baseball as it does to hockey.

Then don't watch it.

It's a all about promoting and expanding the game.

I'm a big fan of National pride, especially with baseball not being an olympic sport (Can't wait for 2020)
