Apparently,David Conte believes Las Vegas will select multiple goaltenders in the expansion and them as trade assets. Conte is a pro scout for Las Vegas. He didn't join Lou in Toronto. MSG radio? Does MSG own Islanders radio rights too? Hornick is an Islanders guy. Probably. Vegas needs to select at least 20 players under contract for next season who make up at least 60% of the $73M cap. They must select 14 forwards,9 D and 3 G. That's is 26. They have 4 more players to select. They could select 7 goalies.

I read Vegas wants to accumulate draft picks and younger assets. Teams will need to replace their goaltenders lost in the expansion draft. They have 4 extra spots to play with in the draft.

Part of me thinks we are waiting till Wednesday due to roster limits. We're at the max right now. I think we like Puempel and Pirri so not waiving anyone. Maybe one gets dealt but really we'd be better off keeping those guys for playoff depth.

Sounds like a Fantasy hockey GM's strategy.

Still think the Rangers will add a depth defender like Smith or Franson and leave Shattenkirk until the offseason. Lots of smoke around the Kings, but maybe that ends up being an off-season play.

I looked that up, and it seems like they can not make that sort of trade.

the expansion team will be allowed to trade any player selected, but players selected in the expansion draft cannot be traded to their previous team until January 1
