I honestly thought Shvyryov wouldn't win that last round.

Not sure who to choose this round.

Looking at our lists... 12-14 explain a lot of what's going on now. Only Picks, Barrie and MacK are full time NHLers.

Wow, that's as narrow a margin as I think I've ever seen in one of these polls. Almost a 3 way tie. I'm going Martin again, although it would pain me to see Morrison slip to 12.

Also, crazy to look back on some of those prior top 10s. Dayum.

Ha, I remember back when Aittokallio was thought of higher than Pickard

Morrison, add Josh Anderson

Lindholm was impressive in his short NHL appearance. Morrison is the next choice, but playing College hockey, little information about his progress.

voted Nantel. he is ten positions too low already, imo. :sarcasm:

I know he is short, but I'm going with Smirnov. I like that, as a Fr, he was the best player on one of the better teams. Mix that with his ceiling and he edges out Morrison and Martin.

Smirnov is probably the guy I know least about but I think age matters here. I could be wrong but aren't Morrison and Smirnov the same age?

Otherwise, from what I've read, Smirnov does not really project as an NHLer unless a lot of things go right whereas Morrison only projects as not an NHLer if things go wrong.

Smirnov is a year older than Morrison... fun fact, in 15-16 Morrison finished 3rd in scoring in the USHL. Smirnov finished 5th. Just have to find a way to get Pitlick and we would have the odds in the top 5.

I wouldn't call Morrison a safe bet to make it. He isn't exactly an energy player or good defender right now.

I like Smirnov, but he's the definition of top six or bust. He has some nice tools that might help him stick in the NHL, but there's a great deal of uncertainty about whether or not his weaknesses will keep him from getting there at all.

I think Smirnov is going to be a top AHLer scorer like Grimaldi, Agozzino. And there's value in that to the org. Sure there's the possibility he just blows up and defies the odds but that's probably his path.
