Hadn't thought about Hector Cuper for a long time, his career has been rather obscure since those near-miss Valencia teams at the turn of Millenium.

Whipping boy would be a tad harsh
Let's say I had high hopes for him then he disappointed.
Then he came back to a really good level, then sucked again.
Then came back with a strong season two or three seasons ago and since then he has been awful with Marseille and Lyon.

There's really no doubt the talent is there. I have no idea why he has these ups and downs. An african Lovren if you will, only more talented with the ball.

Congrats to Cameroon, they also now go to the Confed Cup this summer where they play Chile, Australia and Germany. Still tough to see them qualify for the World Cup after their poor start in qualifying
