Leier's continued to improve every single year, while this past season showing he could play at the NHL level and not look out of place. He'll either continue to take his trended steps forward or not. He's in a contract year but there's still room for at least another year extension on the left wing in this org. He likely get's another cameo at some point this year and otherwise we've got Lindblom/Weal/Raffl as our guaranteed LW options going into 18-19.

He's a similar type of prospect to what guys like Read of Raffl would have been like at his age, who came into the NHL at 25 and 26 year olds I believe-solid bottom 6 support wingers, rounded enough to move up the lineup in short stints. Well, that would be his upside. He's always played a simple support role, showing he can provide chemistry up and down the entire lineup as a scorer and checker, so long as he's not counted on to generate for a scoring line. As the other two, he specializes very generally in getting pucks out of the zone and down the ice while being able to chip in a bit of scoring off the rushes. At 23, he's still on pace for the type of role he projects to compete for if he can continue to improve as he has.
