Matthews sounds a lot more positive in that interview. Surprised he's still up.

Winnipeg are the real winner today...from 6 to 2

if Calgary didn't win their final game against Minny this year, they would've finished 5th last...instead CBJ finished 5th last and moved up to 3

Jackets finished 4th last. Moved up one spot.

Western Canada didn't do so well. Winnipeg and TO are the big winners today.

Edmonton will likely use that pick to get their Dman.

Disappointed Calgary is still 0 for ever for a top 3 pick.

Flames lost more than the Canucks did based on the final regular season game. If the Jets don't make that major comeback against the Sharks, the Flames have Patrick Laine in the draft. The Canucks always had the greatest odds at 40 percent of finishing 5th in the lottery.

If you'd change so much of history like that, you honestly think the outcome of how those balls bounced around in that machine wouldn't have changed and the timing of it all?

you do realize many of us have swung by the leaf board tonight? right? between the comments there and the way tsn and sportsnet went gaga since the leafs captured the 30th spot--Matthews is now considered to be a generation talent by certain people

People have made comments like that about every single Leafs player/prospect over the years. It's gotten old. Yes, the fanbase is excited(what fanbase wouldn't be?) but we have nothing to do with the media. In fact, most of us hate the Toronto-based media. Like I said though, the point is we hear these comments with sarcastic undertones about how every single one of our players will be generational no matter whom it is. It gets old, and annoying, and is rarely relevant.
