Then at 6:00 they start actually doing lottery picks, starting with #3, then #2, then the #1 pick.
A ton of filler before and between picks...

I keep reading this exact same thing from everyone on the main board. It seems like 70% of the board wants Edmonton to win for this exact same reason now. More people on HF will be happy if the Oilers win so it kinda defeat the purpose I guess?

We'll see some big trades if the Oilers win, that's interesting though. A team with no defense isn't keeping McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH and Matthews at center.

This year, the fact that some teams are missing means they have one of the first three picks so makes even more sense now to go all the way down from 14.

#2 is much worse IMO. They get to pick Laine without the shame of picking #1. Also, since he's not a center they can easily fit him in their actual lineup. Oilers picking #2 would suck.

If we win or finished 2nd I hope we take laine. Kid is just monster, his goals reminds me Ovechkin's. I'm pretty sure he will be 40 or even 50 goalscorer in NHL. Having Laine and Rantanen as top 2 RW in near future is my wet dream!
