With Leivo and Hyman rounding out the top 20, its crazy to think we dont have:

1) a 120 pt CHL scorer [Brooks]
2) a 6'05" mobile defensmen with good upside [Greenway]
3) a goaltender that had quite a solid draft year [Woll]
4) a former first round pick [Gauthier]
5) a in all-likelyhood NHLer [Corrado]
6) a goaltender who had a shutout in his NHL debut [Sparks]
7) a solid Swedish puck moving RHD [Lindgren]
8) a former top 10 prospect on a rival team's pool [Lindberg]

All of whom likely would be top 20 on 25+ other teams, and previous Leafs regimes...

Heck, even Dzierkals, Middleton, Bibeau and others have good potential too!

Only 20 roster spots on an NHL team so only the elite few ever make it.

With prospects you want as many as possible because the success rate is small so the more you have the greater the odds of finding some NHL talent among them.

All shinny new prospects always look exciting at the junior levels showing promise.

That said Leivo and Hyman at this spot look like they may see NHL time and that might make them better prospects then ones ranked higher.

Voted Leivo. He and Hyman are both NHL caliber players and will get time in the bigs this year.

I think for the early 20's I'll be voting for guys like Greenway, Woll, Dzierkals, Brooks, Lindgren, and Lindberg.

leivo has to crack roster this season, hes 100% to get picked up by a team on waiver, im sure

there are actually limited wing spots..we know jvr, leo, and nylander are there for sure, and u gotta think martin is on team, and marner right...hes gotta get by hyman, brown, sosh, lupul, michalek, holland, greening, laich...and thats if no wild card player shows up and steals a spot

leivo in for tough task at camp, but he will get the chance to earn a spot

I'm pretty sure Tony Cameranesi is just like Jimmy Vesey in that being a NCAA draft pick we retain his rights until August 15th. Clearly we are not interested in signing him to an NHL contract but I think it's possible we offer him an AHL deal like we offered Colin Smith. I think to do that the Marlies still have to wait until August 15th for his rights with the Leafs to expire before offering him an AHL deal...does that make sense?

I think that he would be solid center depth for the Marlies.

I see our prospects in tiers as well, and it is a good way to sub divided a prospect pool.

However I think if you get 10 prospects out of your top 20 prospect pool hitting on 50% that is a pretty high return.

I think the league average is around 35-40% for good drafting teams. (with +100 NHL games the lower limit). Players playing <100 are not considered successful draft picks.

Leafs picking near the very top in each round help increase odds of success.

Yes because many of these prospects will be competing for the same spot. (eg Valiev/Dermott/Nielsen/Greenway will be competing for 1 or maybe 2 roster spots)

What does that have to do with anything? Becoming NHLers doesn't mean becoming NHLers with the Leafs.
