Hopefully WWE can bring some viewers back in 2017, at least from this board. Voter turnout was smaller than last year. :(

(you have New Year's Eve in all the threads)

yeah, I never really set a date in stone for final results. I kinda just let them run to the end of the year but will post the threads a bit before the end of the year like last year. Usually when I anticipate voter turnout is done. Hopefully next year there's more people.

Would you guys prefer just keeping it WWE/NXT next year or included other guys in other promotions? For example, a guy like Kenny Omega would have been included in superstar of the year (renamed wrestler of the year) this year. I just don't know if too many people are keeping up with other promotions and if I should even bother.

I would do it as separate categories: non-WWE match of the year, wrestler of the year, moment, even a general category for promotion of the year.

I mean, the big moments that win these awards people hear about. Final Deletion, Omega winning G1, Styles vs Nakamura, I think even people who don't watch these kinds of things regularly will be aware of them simply by virtue of being here.

Not sure enough people here watch it. Not a lot of people here ever watch NXT regularly.

The biggest problem with non-WWE stuff is that there's so much of it, and we all watch different things.

Like how is anyone meant to fairly judge anything? Jimmy Havoc's return is a massive deal in PROGRESS, but you're not going to care about it. Or even know who he is. So it makes picking one thing over another basically random based on what you watched, which isn't good for quality of voting.

Then you have Kenny Omega with his great year in NJPW. But how do you compare that with Chris Hero's year where he's had great matches in every style possible with so many different opponents? They're both great years, but so different it's really not right to compare them.

At least with WWE we all have the same content to evaluate and we're all seen the same stuff (or at least followed along part-time). You also don't have the problem of lack of watchers in general.

Styles is still superstar of the year for me if you include all of wrestling.

My match of the year is Nakamura/Styles from Wrestle Kingdom.

I would nominate Matt Hardy for something but not sure he wins or what I give.

Matt Hardy would probably be the reason for a "gimmick of the year" category.

If I included outside guys, Styles would have still won wrestler of the year most likely, but Kenny Omega and Chris Hero would have made it really close. Styles was head and shoulders above everyone else in the WWE this year, but Omega and Hero (I watched Omega more) were fantastic. Omega is the only wrestler I can ever remember having back-to-back five-star matches on consecutive nights.

Biggest Disappointment in 2017: Ronda Rousey in WWE

Pretty much.

It'll probably be one of those preliminary moments that go into the "Moment of the Year" and "Disappointment of the Year" category at the same time, but then eventually doesn't make the second round as I make space and only sticks to one category.

I think Rousey is probably done with fighting/wrestling. At the very least she'll probably disappear for another half a year based on last time.

Since we're wrapping up the year, MCG needs to dig up his predictions for 2016 thread/post (since I can't find it)

I'll post some 2017 predictions for the hell of it:

- The Shield vs. The Club happens.

- Baron Corbin has a run with the WWE Title.

- Joe and Nakamura are both called up and put on Smackdown.

- Ronda Rousey will debut and either face Stephanie McMahon or Charlotte at Summerslam.

- Triple H will not wrestle a single match after Wrestlemania.

- Brock Lesnar will finally eat a pin to a full-time member of the roster for the first time since 2013.

- Braun Strowman will have a run with the Universal Title on Raw.

- Wyatt finally wins the top title on Smackdown, but will have to drop it due to injury.
