shiny new toy factor. But I do think out of all of our prospects, Tkachuk does have the highest ceiling and tools to get there. Just sounds like he needs to work on his skating. Spending the summer with Gary Roberts will do wonders for that

Ferland at 11 still looks about right. He has made the NHL but is still a bit of a question mark as to whether he will stick long term.

For me this is Tkachuk by a lot. If Gillies didn't have his hip worries I would consider him.

We got Ferland roughly in the right spot at 11. The guys ahead of him are better prospects, Ferland is a bottom 6 forward, all the others have much higher potential than him, whether or not they reach it remains to be seen.

Also, there should be little to no concern with Gillies' hip. The surgery he underwent has been coined "the Tommy John for goalies". Relatively low risk, and many goalies who underwent the same surgery have said they are better after having it.
