From an article Feb 9th Lowetide athletic:I don't think the Oilers even own this players rights anymore.
He is 24 now, but a 6 foot 205 pound right handed centre with a hot start to the season is definitely a player to keep an eye on. See if he consistently puts up big points.A bump
Not sure will he ever be a regular NHL:er for your guys but, he has a a good pro career in Finland so far
and this season, beginning of the season, even superb so far!. also at 23 he is still young
season 1 : 14 goals, 24 points (58 games)
season 2 : 12 goals, 35 points (56 games)
season 3 : 5 goals, 9 points (5 games)
nope lost themI don't think the Oilers even own this players rights anymore.
Matej Blumel will be the guy we will be kicking ourselves over----no idea why the oilers did not sign him and assign him back to europe |
Nah, Oilers didn't sign him otherwise he'd be developing in Bako or at least sniff some NHL games.. not in a lower league in Finland.According to elite prospects, his rights are still with the team

Looks like his contract with KalPa is for next season too.I've always liked him. He could carve himself a career of fourth line defensive specialist. He also has the magical intangibles and is one of the nicest and most civilized guys in hockey. Would fit in with Hyman and alike. Perhaps he will sign after this season?
Liiga teams are usually happy to let their players go to the NHL. That said, I don't even know if either party is interested.Looks like his contract with KalPa is for next season too.
Like others have said here, we don't have his rights anymore. I meant to show you the red text that he needed to be signed in order to retain his rights have already expired June 1, 2022.I didn't say they signed him, I said we still have his rights, meaning we have 1st dibs TO sign him but not sure why we haven't or why he hasn't/doesn't want to.
+ he's playing in the top league in Finland lol, what're you talking about?
