Plzen Roma a very good match so far. Rome has the edge naturally, but it's an exciting game to watch

Didn't get to watch any of the late kickoffs due to Thanksgiving but here is a group round up of those games

Group A
Still a three-way race for the top spot after Fenerbahce and Manchester United win their home games. United travel to Ukraine to face Zorya where a win will put them through regardless of other results, anything less then their destiny is out of their hands. Fenerbahce go to Rotterdam, Fener with a win will win the group, a draw will see them progress likely as 2nd place. Only way Feyenoord can progress is a 2+ goal win

Group B
The top two are known, APOEL and Olympiakos and the group winner will be determined in Nicosia in two weeks. APOEL only need a point, Olympiakos must win

Group C
Same as the previous group, Anderlecht and St. Etienne are through and face each other in Belgium to determine top spot. Anderlecht only need a point

Group D
Zenit easily won this group, they are 10 points ahead of 2nd place. AZ (5), Dundalk/Tel-Aviv (4) are fighting for second place. AZ control their own destiny as with a win over Zenit at home will be enough. Should the drop points, the winner of Maccabi Tel-Aviv/Dundalk in Israel will progress

Group E
Roma win the group with a game to spare while Astra picked up a massive come fron behind win over Austria Wien. Austria will go to already eliminated Plzen and must win to progress. Not only must they win, but they must hope Astra don't beat Roma at home

Group F
Genk and Bilbao are already through and Genk have the better H2H record. Genk travel to Italy to face Sassuolo while Bilbao go to Vienna to face Rapid. Genk simply must match the result of Bilbao to win the group

AZ will probably lose to Zenit. So what happens when Maccabi/Dundalk ends in a tie?

AZ will probably lose to Zenit. So what happens when Maccabi/Dundalk ends in a tie?

If the three teams ends on 5 points they will go to a "mini-league" format erasing the results against Zenit. AZ's results will already be known, 5 points with a 3:3 goal difference. Here is if MTA-Dundalk play a scoreless draw

MTA: 5 points; GD 2:2
Dundalk: 5 points; GD 2:2

Which would be wild  Now if MTA/Dundalk play a 1:1 draw then all three would have 5 points with the same GD of 3:3. Honestly in that scenario I have no clue what happens, they probably look at away goals? I know in international competitions, the dead last tie break is coefficients and the team with the highest ones are favored.

So scoreless draw between MTA/Dundalk = AZ Alkmaar
1:1 draw between MTA/Dundalk = ???
2:2+ draw between MTA/Dundalk = Dundalk (on away goals)

By my look, United also moves on with a draw.

If they draw they move to 10 points and are either in 2nd place (with a Fener win or draw) or are in a 3 way tie (with a Fener loss).

In a 3 way tie, the first tie breaker would be points in games among tied clubs, all should be 2-0-2 for 6 points (each with a win and a loss against the other). Next tie breaker would be goal difference in matches with tied teams. United is at +5, Fener is currently -1 and Feyenoord is at -4.

It breaks down like this:

Fener win or draw = Fener and United moving on. Fener 1st if they get a better or equal result to United.
Feyenoord win by 1 and United draw = Fener and United moving on. United in 1st, Fener 2nd.
Feyenoord win by 2+ and United draw = Feyenoord and United moving on. United in 1st, Feyenoord 2nd
Feyenoord win and United loss = Feyenoord and Fener moving on. 1 goal win means Fener 1st. 2+ goal win means Feyenoord first.

We're trying to see how United can escape that EL group even though they probably spent more on one player than Fener and Feyenoord's starting XI combined... :D

Yea it's been a pretty terrible start to the season. Something like 2 points off the worst PL start in their history too.

Wow. What a finish for Gent. They had to win at Konyaspor and hope Braga wouldn't beat Shakhtar.
Braga lost 4-2 at home and Gent score a 94th minute winner in Turkey :D:handclap:

Sassuolo-Genk still yet to kick off due to heavy fog

AZ leading Zenit making the MTA-Dundalk match meaningless for now, MTA currently lead

Austria Wien up two goals and a man at Plzen, meaning Astra must beat Roma to advance, and to be fair they have been better side, though Roma are playing half assed

St. Etienne come from two goals down to take the lead against Anderlecht, if results hold the French side win the group. Astra getting some help from Plzen who score twice with 10 men to equalize against Austria Wien

Austria Wien too blow a two goal lead, only against 10 men though, so they have only themselves to blame for going out should Astra-Roma remain scoreless

Sassuolo-Genk postponed until tomorrow, a 12:30 (CET) kickoff, the game is still important for Genk to determine if they win the group or advance as second place team. Sassuolo having nothing to play for
