Player Discussion: 2016-17 All Goalie Talk

Who do you feel more confident going with for THIS season. A lot of talk about possibly trading Bishop cuz Vasi is the future, but Bishop is only 29, still quite young for a goalie and has lots of good years ahead of him.

I'm curious to get people's opinions. I'm a closet Tampa fan, love what you guys have done with your team to get competitive and become one of the top teams in the east.

Well of course you start with Bish (by a long shot), if he falters you go with Vassy.

Even the people talking about trading him are talking about a significant return. If not, you ride out the contract and take a shot at the cup. Losing him to UFA is not the end of the world.

I would personally love Bish to start every game possible (he is better/we are better with him in net). But we seem to be trying to push Bish out and get Vasi going, so I think they really need to split games this season. Maybe that will help Bish stay healthy longer, or at least make the team equally comfortable with whoever is in net.

There are going to be a lot of very sad people here in a year when Bishop isn't here. Of course Bishop is the better goalie right now, but it's not by a big margin. Vasi is a great goalie in his own right.
