Korostelev has nice skills but he looks like he plays the game on sedatives. There's a reason why a good sized kid with good hands and a good shot drops to the 7th round.

Do we only vote for players if we've seen them play ?

Well in some way - yes. I never vote for a guy I've seen nothing of in some way or other.

I have seen Froese, Nilsson, etc. and have to go with those solid play guys over a new pick I know nothing about - but that's just me.

I've seen Verhaeghe many times and didn't vote for him - he's a great kid - just not a promising prospect imho. (Hope I'm completely wrong)

Ya I'm not an expert but I am mystified by some of the picks. There are some very solid players have a legit shot at playing some NHL games still not picked - Tom Nilsson comes to mind. Byron Froese is on this list but is way behind Korostelev for some crazy reason.

But does Froese really count as a prospect anymore? He's 24. I think after four full seasons turning pro from the CHL, you no longer classify as a prospect.

Prolly true but not sure age defines whether you are a prospect or not.

I guess we could put an limit on ECL limit on this poll.

Korostelev was taken in the 7th round only a month ago. What's he done since then? Sure, he's good boom bust value for the 7th round but there's a reason he dropped. Picking him over guys picked way before him in the same draft like Nielson, who has similar top flight organization boom potential and lower bust potential, or players who have actually done something to indicate that they are on a higher trajectory than where they were taken (Toninato, Vesey, Joshua, Rupert, or even Bailey) makes no sense to me.

I'm taking Korostelev again. At this stage, I'm perfectly content to go for boom or bust prospects.
