Prospect Info: 2015 Annual Prospect Poll #2

Last Poll: Gibson wins, three years in a row. Next one might be more interesting.

Each poll will be open for 48 hours. If it's not close after 24 hours, I'll call it. If it is, it'll go the full 48. In the event of a tie after 48 hours, a 24-hour runoff will be held. The winner will get the open spot; the loser will go back into the pool, not get the next-lowest rank. The poll will go up to #25. Players are in the poll on the basis of HF's prospect criteria. Essentially, skaters with less than 65 games before the season of their 24th birthday, or goalies with less than 45 games before the season of their 24th birthday, are considered prospects. There are some nuances with respect to older-signed players, which I believe only applies to Matt Bailey this year.

Vote on players using whatever criteria you like. This isn't the readiness poll or the talent poll or the most-likely-to-be-best poll, it's just a survey of who we as Duck fans like.

Ritchie is the obvious choice here.

It makes me both cringe and laugh histerically to see Sbisa over Fowler in 2010, or Lindholm after Holland in 2012 :help:

Pretty close between Ritchie and Theo. I'd say since Theo is a little further along in his development and has already shown the vision/size/discipline/shot/skating necessary to be an NHL caliber regular, he's the safer pick to succeed at this point.

Until Ritchie can shake off the low motor/motivation perception that he's gotten, he's always going to be a bigger question mark even with his high end skillset.

I'd guess he lost a series of close calls.

Some of it might have been overhyping of some of the others. Shiny new toy, and all that.

Silfverberg was new. Etem had a good playoffs. Holland, I just don't know. But yeah, they were probably close votes.

Theodore. These next two are very close, but the way Theodore's defensive game has come along has been incredible. He is a year older, but definitely fewer question marks, so he wins out for me.

Also, unless there's a tie, will there even be a need for a #3 poll?

Theo is 4 months older that Ritchie. They're both 95's.

If Theo was a few weeks younger, he'd have went to the 2014 draft having led his team in points (by a long way) with 79 points in 70 games and a +19 with big minutes as Seattles no.1 dman. There's no question he goes ahead of Ritchie and a number of others picked top 10 as well.

Yes. It isn't a given that everyone who votes Theo #2 has Ritchie at -#3. Just likely.

No one around these parts knew what to expect from Lindholm right after he was drafted, so that one isn't really outlandish.

I said that mostly in jest, but I do personally believe it won't be necessary. I love Montour and many others, but there's no way poll #3 should be close.

Then again, I can't believe there are votes for players not named Theodore or Ritchie in this one.

Plus, it fills one additional day if nothing else to talk about time.

As I stated when voting him ahaed of Gibson, Theo has been developing at both ends of the ice as well as becoming a team leader. I feel he is more likely to have a very good NHL career and maybe even be a top pairing guy for a long time. Much more of a sure thing to me than Ritchie.

Karlsson with better defense but less dynamic offensively

He has the same snapshot they get through every time and you wonder how

Personally, his style reminds me of Keith. Skates effortlessly, silky-smooth offensively and defensively responsibly. I'm not sure he'll ever be as good as Keith, but I can see him playing a similar role.
