Prospect Info: 2015 Annual Prospect Poll #1

Hooray, it's the annual poll. Voting starts now, for #1. Read the fine print in the paragraph below. Couple things to address in the big boy paragraph: people are going to freak, but Gibson remains a prospect under HF criteria. Sorry. If you don't like it, don't vote for him. Also, I'm sure I've forgotten or missed some of the lesser prospects (or even some of the major ones). Please, especially in this first poll, before you vote, check to make sure the guy you would have voted for is actually in the poll.

Each poll will be open for 48 hours. If it's not close after 24 hours, I'll call it. If it is, it'll go the full 48. In the event of a tie after 48 hours, a 24-hour runoff will be held. The winner will get the open spot; the loser will go back into the pool, not get the next-lowest rank. The poll will go up to #25. Players are in the poll on the basis of HF's prospect criteria. Essentially, skaters with less than 65 games before the season of their 24th birthday, or goalies with less than 45 games before the season of their 24th birthday, are considered prospects. There are some nuances with respect to older-signed players, which I believe only applies to Matt Bailey this year.

Vote on players using whatever criteria you like. This isn't the readiness poll or the talent poll or the most-likely-to-be-best poll, it's just a survey of who we as Duck fans like.

Are we voting on our organizations needs or as a prospect overall?

Either way it's Gibson for #1 but for #2 it matters.

Hasn't it traditionally been whatever your own reasoning was? I think overall prospect is the better way to go, because roster change happens.

Gibson.

If it's overall #2 is Theodore to me, if its organizational need then it's close between Ritchie and Theodore with Ritchie coming out a little in front.

Thanks Bodacious for starting this. Great job :handclap:

Have to go with Gibson here, great potential and he has shown his skills in the big league. He needs to stay healthy! The next season he's primarily going to play in SD which should be good for him, should get few games in Anaheim as well.

Next one is going to be a tough one.

Gibson may well have a great career. But he hasn't been at all impressive in the NHL and he has a bad habit of never playing a full season.

OTOH, Theo has (since being drafted) continued to improve his game on both O & D as well as become a team leader in Seattle. He may well hit some bumps in the road much like Gibson, but so far he hasn't so, he gets my vote.

Gibson has the highest ceiling that is probable to be reached, so I'm goin with him.

Ritchie has the highest ceiling overall, but the likieness he reaches that is highly questionable.

That's exactly how I feel about him. I hope I'm wrong but I don't have a great feeling about him ever getting it together mentally.

I went with Theo. He's been improving and collecting accolades along the way. Gibby's year last year wasn't so great. Ritchie... i dunno... i know it was simply a rookie camp, but he wasn't bringing the same intensity, according to the reports, on Monday's camp like he showed off in Saturday's camp. So that motor issue pervades my mind.

Lol... We got reports that the whole tempo was down, not just Ritchie. If he pulls something like this in real camp, then ya, see you in SD.

He's such a major on ice talent I'm worried how serious these mental/motivation issues are, because to me he looks like a top 5 pick. He was smiling/laughing the whole practice on Saturday, and unlike Noeson, he didn't show any fatigue towards the end of the scrimmage.

1. Gibson
2. Theodore
3. Ritchie

IMO
Going by the players I think that they will become, not organizational need.

Am I the only one that doesn't think Gibson is a sure thing? Just too many questions for me, as does Ritchie, even though I like his game for the NHL. I'd go with Theo as our best prospect.
