Tornado warning in effect for:
•Lacombe Co. near Clive Alix and Mirror
•Lacombe Co. near Lacombe Blackfalds and Bentley
•Ponoka Co. near Ponoka and Maskwacis

At 5:25 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
Weather radar is indicating a potential tornado 10 km south of Ponoka. Communities in the path include: Morningside Clive and Tees
Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:
•City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
These thunderstorms are expected to develop in western areas before moving eastwards into the evening.
Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors
