Prince is nothing. That waiver eligibility sealed his fate from the get-go.

Because we had to sign Chris Neil... Unbelievable

As dumb of a move as it was, that wasn't the reasoning.

It's more a decision that they're going to go with Puempel next year and they'd rather get something than lose Prince on waivers

We gave up a 7th round pick too for this deal

I trust our scouting staff to draft some talent so I don't mind this deal

So much for "genuine interest in Wiercioch" eh Garrioch

So obvious that this guy is the organizations mouthpiece in the media.

The lack of Wiercioch interest should also show how much the analytics community needs to realize that just because the underlying stats look good, doesn't mean the player is coveted by "smart" teams.

I'm sure Murray would have dumped him for a 7th if they could have gotten out of the rest of this year's contract. My guess is having to qualify him for next year rather than pick him up on the cheap is what scared teams off.

As a 5/6 defenseman at 800K he's probably ok. But that's all he's worth.
