Well. That says all you need to know and why they'll lose in the first round (even if they meet Chicago in the first round where they always turn it on).

One of the most interesting thing about those emails is that Shanahan comes across as a rather professional guy. Bettman at least writes emails above a 5th grade level too.

It's childish of me, but Campbell's complete lack of professionalism is fun. So far I've found one email explaining that:
"Kesler was being a dick with Gregory and some Panthers"

Then came the eloquently worded:
"I am not. Just covering my ass. Some one had to have the balls to ask the question."

and the surprisingly poignant:
"Yes but if we said shoulder checks w(h)ere 'in any manner' we s*** the bed on about 10 others this year alone where shoulder checks injured people. Let's face it sell rivalries, we sell and promote hate and when a player hits another player legally we can't drill him because he's a king rat!" which he capped off with:

Not sure where to post this but if you haven't seen the hit Buff laid on Stone from Ottawa tonight, it's worth checking out, probably the biggest clean hit I've seen in 5 years.

Honestly not too surprising, both of them seem 'smart', as opposed to Colin Campbell. Haven't looked at the e-mails, but I'd imagine other guys like Sakic and Stevie Y would sound professional as well.

A season later, who would you rather have now? Rantanen or Crouse? I was in the Crouse camp before the draft but was not disappointed with Rants. I still wonder though.

I'd still go Crouse, but I really don't think there is much of a difference in quality between them. It comes down to personal prefernce. I like big PF type of players and Crouse is going to be an elite PF in the NHL. He isn't as skilled as Rantanen and likely won't put up the points that Rantanen does, but will be as effective all around (Crouse's cycle game is unreal) and probably a better goal scorer.
