An interesting tidbit on the Ruutu to New Jersey trade - the conditional 3rd round pick the Hurricanes got is for 2017. It's pretty weird to see picks dealt that far in advance, especially as the only pick in a deal.

I wonder what the hell the condition is that pushes the pick back that far.
