So...

- Who do you expect to be drafted by Montreal with the 26th pick?
- Without any trades happening, who would be your choice?

Took a look at McKenzie's rankings and there are some interesting wingers with size.

I'm kind of curious as to whether Habs might "go off the board" with their first pick although given the seeming interchangibility of picks from 15 to 45 I'm not sure it's possible to "go off the board". Still, I wouldn't be surprised if Timmins makes a bit of a "reach" given where Habs are picking, although I have no clue whatsoever who that might be. Hunter Smith? Doubtful, but interesting to contemplate some such "off the board" pick.

Edit: Pettersen might be considered an "off the board" pick to some. Ditto Dougherty and a number of others.

A defenseman is almost as unsexy as a goalie. Let's get a forward today, ok? Let's get crazy. Let's get ****ing nuts.

He's the exact opposite of Subban personality wise. Subban is not arrogant in the slightest.

I wouldn't call them the exact opposite. Subban reportedly thought high of himself back when he was a kid. Confidence is often the only reason someone makes it over an other one. I guess what I'm saying is that he's only a kid and proper education and development could do it.

What about trading pick #26 for picks #31 and/or 39 and/or 49 from Buffalo?

We could also try #26 for #33 and #52 from St-Louis.

Or #26 for #34 and 54 from Calgary.

Maybe enven #26 for #30 and #41 for New-Jersey.

I think trading down would be my choise since it's gonna be hard to move up!

Yeah, 51 of em to be precise.

By the way, my question was, obviously, regarding trades involving the Habs.

Are we going to make a thread for every individual trades or draft picks the Habs will make, or just try to contain everything in the GDT?

If Barbashev, Scherbak, Kempe and Schmaltz are off the board, I'd do it.

Ho-Sang is a kid. Plenty of time to mature. At #26, I have no problem with the Habs taking a boom or bust prospect. Especially if it's someone that has top end talent if they boom rather than bust.

From Timmins comments though, the Habs may go off the board even. He said lists between scouts are very different concerning spots 15-40.

New Jersey isn't allowed to trade the 30th pick so rule them out.
