Yeah, disappointing. We still have a 2nd rounder available and a 2 time NHL player. Depth.

I'm going Devane because he could be a good 4th liner like Bodie for a long time. Or like an Orr of two years ago when he was a good defensive forward and PKer. Devane could potentially chip in a good 10-15 points if given time, because he's got a decent shot also. Perhaps his shot will come next year when Winnik, Booth, etc. are likely to be sent packing and we will have a hole on the 4th line LW spot.

Brad Ross isn't a bad option either and I expect him to be traded to be given a shot elsewhere, because with Komarov on the roster for the next 4 years, he's likely not given a shot (unless Komarov moves to center again, then maybe he'll have a shot at the NHL if he turns out alright).

I'll take Kouzin right now he's the closest player to becoming a decent top 9 player. Devane is a bit of a wash he's a 4th line grinder at best

See I also think he and Abbott, despite their size, could be good top 9 players. But that won't happen now with all of the depth unless we really trade a bunch AND a whole lot of injuries occur. They haven't had injury problems yet so... I'm just not voting for him because I don't consider players with 4 pro seasons prospects anymore. Unless they are late bloomers, they are likely not going to get much better than they are currently. I will say that we won the trade to get him. Even if he never makes it to the NHL, he's a good AHL forward and leader, which very important in prospect development and is more than worth it for an ECHL center.

Brad Ross, is a,bust

While I'm willing to give him this season to prove otherwise, he has definitely been a disappointment with the Marlies. It's too bad he hasn't been able to translate his offensive game from junior, would have been a valuable top 9 forward.
