Considering that Subban was picked to play for Canada twice in the WJC and then two more times at the WC (including last year immediately after Montreal was eliminated) I can't see them having anything against him.

It is kind of weird to see the guy who ran the Oilers into the ground having such a large role with Hockey Canada though.

More likely, it means that the likes of Stamkos, Tavares, Giroux are locks to make the team this time around. The players you mentioned are on the bubble IMO.
