really think devane, Ross, and Biggs all should've spent significant time in the echl. They were playing well there in their short stints and were finding their scoring to touches (Ross and Biggs anyhow) only to be recalled less than 10 games later. Nothing wrong eith letting them play 40 games in the E. Burrows is an example of a player who had to start in the E.

The one thing going for Johsnon is that he's very tenacious.

That's something you need from a smaller player to have to set him apart from the rest, he's talent is also very impressive.

I don't think there has been many tenacious players on this team for a while, that type of play can be infectious if used correctly.

Oh yes I forgot 1D have to be perfect and never make a mistake at the age of 21, that's why Duncan Keith was a suprising plus 100 his first year in the NHL right??

One play doesnt make a players career but Rielly is very good and I think will almost certainly be a #2D and hopefully a #1

In today's NHL how many top-4 d-men are there with Finn's skating ability?

Many and I dont need to even read them
Finn has everything to be a top 4 d man, his skating has improved and should get better.
Funny how every critic comes out when they didnt say a word last season
I guess again "what have you done for me lately" syndrome

I agree. I wouldn't be writing off Finn just yet. Top 4 upside is there...we just need to be patient.

Rielly couldn't stop Tavares and NY scored with 20sec left in OT. I hope Rielly becomes a #1D but he isn't showing it defensively.

The leading scorer in the nhl has beat many #1 d this season. Never mind 20 year old sophomores.

I think our bottom 6 is set, top 9 maybe. Depends how Johnson/Verhaeghe pan out. I know Brownie is a legit second liner, Leivo could be a third liner.
you know Connor Brown is a legit 2nd liner? I dont know about that, i hope so... But im still not positive. I think Leivo has a more guarenteed NHL future because he can domiante downlow and infront of the net and thats his game... Browns offense has to translate to the NHL or else he will always be an AHL scorer.

Good to hear his time off has been used to improve his skating.

No rush, give him the overripe treatment and look at giving him a shot in 2017.

Some people treat him like he's a 1st. round pick who's busting, when he's clearly a long term project who fell out of the first due to the issues that have to be worked on.

Leafs have a number of youngsters they can utilize without prematurely promoting one who is just learning how to be a pro.
