We will end up with either a top 2 D or top 6 F at number 8. We will have an NHL future goalie OR a top 4 D/top 9 F at #16. We will have a couple of so so second liners or decent third line players from #38 and #52. We will get a couple of in and outers from the other 6 chosen. If that happens it will be a good draft-and that is what I expect. Trades-who knows? That will only happen if a couple of guys go earlier than expected and teams smell an opportunity to get someone they have built up in their mind since he was considered unattainable...

If we take a universally hated and panned pick, I'm blaming Chain.

Not to mention that this thread isn't even created on "Game Day". Oh man, bad mojo abounds!!!
To be fair, I was going to post it early again, like last year, as that mojo worked to our advantage.

Was looking forward to this day since the season ended. Thought we would see two major trades, a top 5 pick and the a bunch of activity.

Now it looks like we will be drafting at 8 and 16, then calling it a 1st round.

We won't see these dudes for 2-3 years and it will be status quo.

If we get Lindholm, Monahan, Ristolainen, or Nichushkin at #8 they're either here this season or are 1 year away. They're really good prospects, too.

My predictions...

"And now, the Commissioner of the NHL, Gary Bettman." GB gets bood when saying "Hello, New Jersey."

The NHL and K Chevy acknowledge the passing of Don Baizley, perhaps there is a short well-deserved tribute to him.

Kevin Devine gets way close to the mic and leans over to announce our pick (s).

Homer gets bood.

People will be mad about our picks but will hopefully give the kids a chance.

I am super excited. I might just leave work at 230 instead of 3 and let the desk run itself. Lindholm/Monahan or Risto with 8, please.

#8 will likely be here this year or next. Especially if it's Monahan, Lindholm, Ristolainen or Nichuskin. Nurse MIGHT only be a year away.

16? Yeah, he's likely 2-3 years away.
