He was always going to be a #6 PP specialist; my issue is the coaching staff hasn't once put him in a position to use his greatest weapon, his shot. We still don't have a D-man in the pipeline who brings what K-Conn brings.
*Kisses fingers and points to the sky*
Love Skrastins and it was a terrible tragedy for all involved. I don't see anything wrong with his number getting back into circulation though. Keep the memory alive.
Don't get too excited. This could still be an emergency call up. I asked Mark, but he hasn't confirmed.
If that's the case, Nemeth is gone the second Rome is healthy. It seems weird you could do an emergency call up with 6 healthy D, but that could very well be the case.
I'd be pretty shocked if it wasn't one.
Something to consider when Erik Cole comes back. Shawn Horcoff's hand is barely healthy enough to play, and he can't take faceoffs. There really isn't another option to play center when Cole pushes Jeffrey out. Since Cole will likely replace Horcoff next to Fiddler and Sceviour, Chiasson may be required to step in on the 4th line and take the draws.

Whitney - Chiasson - Cole
Rather than break up the Horcoff - Fiddler - Sceviour line.
Chiasson never played center ... oh .. wait. He played center for a few disastrous games against OKC in the playoffs.
Makes more sense to let a natural center play center and bring in some help via the wings to win the draws. This is another way the Peverley loss hurts though that I hadn't really considered. They don't have a swing center/wing anymore.
Glove ... you are correct that it's been a while since Sceviour played center. I want to say 2 years, but I think he might have been an injury fill in a few games last year.
How about sitting the guy with an abysmal penalty differential and a hand injury?
Jeffrey has a good game, but it's not going to happen. Plus, you'd have to use a regular recall on him to accomplish that. That would be Dallas' 3rd of only 4. Not a deal breaker, but they seem like they were trying to hold on to them.
If Rome plays over Connauton ... Ruff plays Horcoff over Jeffrey for the same reason. Plus, I think Horcoff has looked fine honestly. If we're going to bench people for bad penalties, he's not even the first guy I think of. He takes more than he should, but we all know there's one guy on the team that takes them at the worst possible time frequently. Luckily, lately Garbutt has been better about that.
