I used the first ten eligible prospects from Kris Baker's February rankings for the opening poll. Per usual, after casting your vote, suggest one player from the remaining prospect pool to add to the next poll.

********************

2013-14 Mid-Season Prospect Poll Results:
  • Poll #1: Rasmus Ristolainen, 84/121, 69.42% – Add: Brayden McNabb
  • Poll #2: Nikita Zadorov, 77/103, 74.76% – Add: Chad Ruhwedel

********************

F: Justin Bailey, Daniel Catenacci, Christian Isackson, Colin Jacobs, Justin Kea, Eric Locke, Sean Malone, Brad Navin, Logan Nelson, Jonathan Parker, Judd Peterson, Gustav Possler, Tim Schaller, Kevin Sundher, Shawn Szydlowski, Phil Varone.

D: Mark Adams, Brady Austin, Nick Crawford, Anthony Florentino, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, Matt MacKenzie.

G: Matt Hackett, Connor Knapp, Nathan Lieuwen, Andrey Makarov, Cal Petersen.

********************

Eligibility Note: A player will be considered a prospect until he meets the following criteria. Thus, there are four subtractions from the last set of polls. Brian Flynn (80 GP) graduated, while Corey Tropp was claimed by Columbus. Zemgus Girgensons (56 GP) and Mark Pysyk (61 GP) also have "arrived" and could very well meet the 65 NHL GP graduating prospect threshold by the end of this set of polls.

Crawford, Hackett, Knapp, Ruhwedel, and Szydlowski are approaching the upper limit of the age criteria. I'd also project Hackett, McNabb, and Ruhwedel to be tendered offers as RFA's, while Crawford, Knapp, MacKenzie, Parker, and Szydlowski may not get another contract. Further, Buffalo holds the rights to Austin, Kea, Nelson, and Ullmark until June 1, 2014 and to Adams until August 15, 2014.

Thought this was #2 the whole time it was sitting there.

Grigorenko, Possler.

Putting Grigorenko much lower would basically be saying he has little chance of making it, considering his potential.

I wanted to add Possler since #1 but couldn't do it. If not for the knee injuries, I wonder how his season would have continued, not to mention the WJC :(

I think it needs to be Grigorenko here. Unless he falls flat on his face he should still be a second line player.

Larsson, add Kea

Larsson is developing at a very solid pace, he has an NHL Toolbox of skills. He is having a succesful season in the minors. He'll be up with Buffalo full time by next year. I think he's a close to a lock for a long term NHL role as it gets, with a floor of a high end bottom 6 2 way player and a ceiling in a Top 6 glue/2 way/Jochen role.

I think he will be a core component of the rebuild, in a less glamorous way (Jochen during the co-caps era)

AHL
12-13 PPG 0.66
13-14 PPG 0.92

That's what a developing pro player looks like.

Easily Grigorenko. Add Bailey.

I think Bailey's got as much potential as anyone outside of our top four (Risto/Zads/Grigs/Armia). If he hits, watch out.

Love Larsson. Easily number 4 on my list.

Had to chose between Compher, Baptiste, McCabe, Larsson and Grigorenko. I went with Baptiste since he has all the elements of every other player on that list. Plus he is simply just tearing it up and is the fastest skater out of the bunch. Grigs I see him as making it as a secondary scoring center. I think that's probable but I think there's a good chance he defects or is not on this team going forward due to a trade. I probably put Larsson and McCabe ahead of Grigs as well...add Kea

Grigorenko. And while I think Cal Petersen is the appropriate add here, I don't want to be adding the same guy for five straight polls, so I'll go with Possler.
