Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL

The Philadelphia Flyers have reached an affiliation agreement with the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL for the 2013-14 season, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Under the agreement, the Flyers will be able to assign players to Greenville who are under contract either to the Flyers or to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms. Players under ECHL contracts with Greenville will also be able to be called up to Adirondack as opportunities present themselves.

Refresh my memory. Were both Clapperton and Hyka at this camp and the prospects camp or just the rookie camp? I see that both Harper and Ryan are returning.

The invitees that interest me are Hauf and Ryan. I don't necessarily expect to see any of them earn contracts but I do like to see how invitees do. Maybe this Hauf guy can make the Flyers regret the Drake and or Amorosa picks and set himself up to picked next year.

The Flyers are at 49 contracts according to capgeek with Laughton and Stolarz available to slide. They also have 12 reserves coming up for RFA or UFA status next year with some of them questionable to be resigned like Hostetter, Eddy, Newbury, Mangene and Brown as examples. Only Leier would need to be signed this year and his contract will slide til next year. Long story short, the Flyers have contracts to give out if any of the try-outs stand out this camp as long as they are slide eligible.

Clapperton was just at prospect camp and if I'm not mistaken (I usually go to the prospect camp) Hika DID NOT go to prospect but went to rookie/pro camp. The guys in rookie camp usually are guys the Flyers really do like. Some are bodies though. If one has a good camp, could earn a contract and go back to juniors.

Hauf doesn't have to wait to get picked up again. IF he performs well he could have a chance for a contract and go back to juniors to learn.

I cold be very wrong about this, but I thought the Flyers can sign any junior player that wasn't drafted during camp. Ony after they return to their junior team, they go back into the draft. The reason I think this is because of the Hyka situation. The Flyers couldn't sign Hyka because he played mainly over seas. If he had played in juniors, they could have signed him. One of the things said was that the Flyers sold have chosen Hyka in the 7th round and invited and signed Mathers in camp instead. Anybody know for a fact?

The reason why I think a junior player can go back is because of Hostetter. He didn't get drafted by flyers but was signed to a contract as a 18 yr old. He then went back to juniors.

But yes I do think you are correct

The reason I mentioned that maybe he will play well enough to be drafted next year is because I think its unrealistic for him to play well enough to earn a deal the year he was draft eligible. I know they could sign him, I just don't think they will. I think being drafted next year is a lot more realistic expectations for him. To go from completely passed up in the draft to signed to an ELC in a few months just seems pretty far fetched for me but I guess its possible.

I would think Akeson would be higher on their list then Noebels in terms of call-ups

Akeson is a top 6 forward only with limited size and skating ability. I would be very shocked if he had an NHL future, let alone on this team which is stacked with much more talented forwards already on the roster. He reminds of a a Ryan Potulny type guy.

Akeson is more of a playmaker than Potulny, who was much more apt to shoot.

can you message me who you follow? Timmy basically admitted that without names on the jerseys he will be useless. Of course he'd be useless with the names on there too.

Done and Done. Its just two guys there now. Meltzer will be there on Sunday. The training camp I will have like 20 guys all telling me the same thing.

Anyone know a anything about this kid? Is he still a flyers prospect? He is a cousin of one of my friends and I was curious if he has any chance at actually playing pro hockey.
