Couturier being extremely underrated and I'm not saying that just because of his breakout with Giroux and Vorachek this year.

Wait was manson you guys pick too? lol that's actually funny I thought just Gibson and rakell were
Yes I believe Manson was selected using the Leafs 6th rounder. You guys basically created your new core off of Maple Leafs picks. Got a nice forward, d-man and goalie.

1. Scheifele
2. Kucherov
3. Gaudreau

Scheifele has less ppg in regular games than Kuch. He has done nothing in play-offs. It is obviously the wrong order.

As his play is this year, Klefbom isn't in the top 15 of his draft class.
So you exclude Klefbom because of his play this year (13 games) but then rank Gaudreau over Kucherov and put Hamilton in the top 10?

Gibson is not a top 10, he’s an average goalie.

This might be controversial but I would take Klefbom at 3 after Kucherov and Scheifele. Gaudreau is a great player but based on team needs one can make an easy case to draft the arguably the best dman of the draft over the winger

Hamilton is arguably higher, but I held him back. Gaudreau has had an amazing start FYI.

No you can't.

Klefbom isn't even a good top pairing D man. Gaudreau is a franchise talent.

Did you cut off the rest of my post before reading it or what's your point?

Scheifele is a C and Kucherov is a W. That's all there is to it.

I am a huge Gaudreau fan. This is not taking anything away from him but in my opinion Klefbom was one of the top d men in the NHL last season. And for some teams depending on needs that might be a better choice to pick at 3

Because Hamilton has shown consistently that that he bounces back from poor stats, and hasn't even been bad this season, Klefbom had one great year

off the top of my head:

1 Kucherov (#58)
2 Scheifele (#7)
3 Gaudreau (#104)
4 Panarin (undrafted)
5 Saad (#43)
6 Klefbom (#19)
7 Couturier (#8)
8 Huberdeau (#3)
9 Parayko (undrafted)
10 Krug (undrafted)
11 Trocheck (#63)
12 Hamilton (#9)
13 Manson (#160)
14 Landeskog (#2)
15 Gibson (#39)
16 Palat (#208)
17 Zibanejad (#6)
18 Gostisbehere (undrafted)
19 Rakell (#30)
20 Arvidsson (undrafted)

2011 wasn't the best year for scouts.

I have Hamilton and Larsson higher than Klef atm.

1 Kuch (cant argue)
2: Scheiff
3-5 is hard: Johnny, Vinny and Hube dubie doh (or whatever that Panther guy is screaming)

6-8: Hamilton Couts and Saad

9-10 Rakell (will raise if he keeps it up) Larsson

HM: Brodin, Klefbom, Gibson, Zibby, Landerskog, Palat RNH and so on

Im excluding the nondrafted like Panarin etc etc..

Few stars, but a decent amount of gamechangers..

Whatever you want to believe.

I agree he hasn’t had a great start but Klefbom is better than Hamilton.

Ok. Now I see your problem. Lets make an experiment. Put a cat in the center of a line. Then put Crosby on a wing. So now your ranking is like this:
1) A cat
2) Crosby
Why? Cause Crosby is a winger and this cat is a center.

Based on what?

The year Klefbom finally graduated out of the AHL Dougie Hamilton was putting up 42 points in the NHL and has got better every year since.

lmao, what a take. hamilton has been better than klefbom every year they've been in the league at literally every single stat while playing harder minutes. the only thing klefbom has over hamilton is taking fewer penalties and being on mcdavid's team last year.

since 2015 at 5 on 5 (2000+ minutes):

points per 60 minutes: hamilton 1.24 klefbom 0.85
corsi for %: hamilton 52.5 klefbom 51.39
corsi for relative to team: hamilton 4.64 klefbom 1.39
goals against per 60 minutes: hamilton 2.32 klefbom 2.42
goals for % relative to team: hamilton 4.86 klefbom -1.9
expected goals for %: hamilton 52.09 klefbom 51.95
expected goals for relative to team: hamilton 5.08 klefbom 1.15

there is literally no argument for klefbom being better lol. hamilton is better absolutely and relatively. one of the most underrated defenders on these boards

there's a few advanced stats metric that have Klefbom high but they also have Klefbom as a top 10 NHL dmen so there's that

I do agree that Hamilton's #s are superior but I've never been impressed when I see him so ranking Klefbom higher is personal bias. Also playing with Giordano one of the more underrated D in the league helps

Kuch
Scheif
Johnny

Seeing Kucherov break out really must kill Tod Button and Feaster. On their draft list they had Kucherov and Gaudreau unranked, but rather had them as "special talents" on the side. I mean if Tampa doesn't pick Kuch that high the Flames might not have ended up with Gaudreau as when Tod saw Kuch taken he told Feaster to take Gaudreau with their next pick regardless of draft board and they did in the 4th round. Flames ended up picking Markus Granlud earlier in the 2nd and Wotherspoon with the 57th pick, Kucherov was next at 58.

FUUUUUUUUU The Flames could have made out like bandits if they had drafted both from that draft.

Kucherov broke out 2 years ago with the triplets line and taking tampa to the eastern finals scoring at will

he followed that up with 85 in 74

now he's having a MVP season

Ducks should just trade back every year, just get picks from the Leafs. Seems to be good luck.
