[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

I tried to make a play to Mac and put him in a terrible spot. It was a terrible play and it cost the team two points.
It just stinks. We played a strong game, but I put too much air on it and put Mac in trouble.
You have to make the easy plays. It was just stupid.
- Derek Stepan

It doesn’t matter how many you win, you want to win every game.
And the way we lost is extremely frustrating.
- Henrik Lundqvist

I liked a lot off things we did tonight. We spent a lot of time in their end. We didn’t get enough for it.
Part of that is on us and part of that is, give them a lot of credit, they defended well. They blocked a lot a lanes and made it real hard for us.
- Alain Vigneault

Lundqvist really inflated his alarming GAA after last night's debacle.

See, there is no shame in feeling frustrated after that loss last night. Even if they did win 9 in a row prior. It was just a really tough way to lose a game that was infuriating to watch from nearly beginning to end.

Get the new streak going.

All in all, last night...we didn't play abysmally for the whole game. We played well, minus a few hiccups here and there and the first period. If we really think about it, we stoned the Bolts as much regularly as they did to us. They only scored on two big flubs on our part, which don't happen at least 8 times out of 10; but they didn't score off of regular play, so to speak.

New streak starts tomorrow night. Tough stretch coming up, but I think we can do this.

Get a win against the Panthers before Jagrs new mullet starts giving him supernatural powers again.

I hope to one day be as enthusiastic about my job as the Spanish broadcaster.

As much as we all hate Tampa Bay, we can all learn from them. They don't need 33 chances a game to score like we do, give them 1 shot off a mistake, and they can capitalize and make it count even against the best goalie in the world. That's a legit skill and is very important. The Rangers don't make things COUNT. They can constantly flub 2 on 1s, breakaways, zone entries, even defensively they make bone-headed mistakes. We need to cut down on those big mistakes and learn how to stop over passing and being cute.

What the **** are you talking about, we've been leading the league in shooting percentage all season and were probably up there last year. :help:

We had a period where we scored 2 goals on 2 shots, another where we scored 2 goals on 3 shots, and another 3 goals on like 7 shots. I have no clue what he's talking about, he has some antiquated popular opinions from like 2 years ago and he's running with it without forming an opinion of his own.

Look at the difference between us and Tampa in the ECF. Regular season doesn't matter to me as much as the postseason. We were shutout 2 times in 7 games, meanwhile Tampa scored on what seemed like every 2nd or 3rd high quality chance we gave them. Staal tumbles and falls it's in our net...MSL ****s up on a 5 on 3 chance, it's in our net. Would we have scored on every one of those chances Tampa did? That was my point.
