OCTOBER SCHEDULE:

[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

It was a huge start for us. When the schedule came out I couldn't think of a tougher place for us to start than in STL.
So we had this one circled for a long time and we knew it would be a true test coming out of the gates. It was nice to get the W.
- Rick Nash

It was a good game and a great start for us. I thought we played a really strong game five on five, did a lot of good things.
The big thing tonight, obviously is Nasher playing a huge game for us, coming up with some big plays and goals. It was great to see.
- Henrik Lundqvist

The Duke? Yesterday I thought the Duke had some moments. There’s a lot of raw talent there.
I think probably the biggest thing with younger players like him or JT is people think that playing without the puck is playing defensively.
Well, it is defensively but it’s also about knowing where to go to get the puck quicker so you can play with the puck.
- Alain Vigneault

**** the Jackets.

I'm excited, I'm hoping we can go 2-0, it would be huge. I'm a bit shocked we're playing Talbot this early, though, perhaps AV wants to give Lundqvist the extra rest for the home opener? I am a bit concerned about Talbot since he didn't look particularly good during the preaseason.

As for the rest of the team, I'm really not a fan of Hags' being on Zucc and Brass' line, but we'll see how it goes. I'm hoping MSL can play better center, and overall ,I hope our team can win some damn faceoffs.

Can't wait for #2 of 82!

Sorry, this cracked me up.

AV doesn't want him playing back to back games.

Didn't catch much of the Blues game, but of Miller and Hayes who had the better game and going forward would you suggest these two can become regular starters in the bottom 6 for this season once Stepan comes back?

Hayes didn't play.

This should be a fun game. Not going to lie, Dubinsky being out eases my worries a bit.
I don't know 1/2 the players in their lineup.

Time for zuke to get a point or 2..

Seems like it's been ages since his last point...

Don't really recognize most of these guys on Columbus. Still have to play a solid game. Looking forward to see Hayes and Duclair in action!

What's so unpleasant about Malone that he's the 14th forward? I'm not advocating for his place on the starting line up but I thought the coach liked him for a spot. Maybe I didn't follow the preseason impressions correctly. He's certainly serviceable and capable of contributing upfront.

Av is just being honest. This teams fast and uptempo . Malone is big, slow but can help on pp. Right now others fit the system better. Malone has the right attitude and s chance will come

There's decent one strike talent on that line up. Overall defense and limiting their puck possession in the offensive zone to take away chance would be nice. They're not going to overwhelming anyone with speed or talent but they can take what's given well throughout their lineup.

There is no spot for him.

He can't skate, he can't do anything other than stand in front of the net.

I really don't understand why we have to say it so many times...

I don't understand Vigneault's insistence on putting two rookies together. Especially when one of them is 19 years old.

Split up the rookies.
