Simmonds - B --- Strong start.
Read - D --- Not the same player from last year
Couturier - C --- Large part of PK that has sucked. Was better at start.
Raffl - B --- Fit in nice with G early.
Lecavalier - F --- Not an NHL player and makes anyone that plays with him worse.

I can get on board with this. When I was i college I had a class where everyone got the same grade as the person with the lowest grade. We kept everyone motivated and accountable and we were all better for it. In the end looking back, we all had struggles at some point and we all needed each other. Everyone got A's.
I would be pissed if vinny was in my class though.

I tend to agree with you. They aren't individual players, they are supposed to be a team. As for this "team" I think they deserve an F.....for failure!

B. Schenn - B+ (Glad he found someone he can play with an is producing)
Simmonds - C+ (off to a fantastic start, pretty much disappeared now)
Read - C- (really rough year. Looked like he forgot how to play hockey for awhile)
Couturier - C- (similar to Read. Just not getting it done on the PK as much, tough minutes may be getting to him, or the hopeless defense. Need much more offense)
Raffl - C - (pretty decent bringing some physicality to the lineup with some skill and defense. Needs to be more disciplines and finish better)
Lecavalier - F (I'm a Vinny fan, and I have no problem saying he's been a resounding failure this season)
Bellemare - C- (Not a bad acquisition this offseason. Doesn't bring a ton that the team doesn't already have)
Umberger - F (**** that trade)
VandeVelde - D- (fairly useless)
Rinaldo - C (doing what he needs to do to remain in the lineup. A little more polish offensively or if he can dig Vinny out of his hole, I'd vault his grade up)
Akeson - D- (just can't cut it at this level, though I'd like to see him have a fair shot with another skilled player and on the PP)
Laughton - B- (brought a little bit of life and talent to the lineup, just not enough to propel the team to a W)

Coburn - D (I'm beginning to think Coburn is more trouble than he's worth. Team's only successful stretch this season is when he was out injured, and he's been horribly mistake prone in coverage since returning)

Voracek - A+ / Above and beyond expectations. Best part is it looks semi-sustainable, especially if the D wasn't so horrible at moving the puck to the forwards and helping with the transition.
B. Schenn - B+ / When given chances he's looked much better, it's encouraging to see him put up as many points as he has been with both G + Jake and also with Read + Couts.
Simmonds - B / Was on fire in the beginning but hasn't been able to keep it up.
Read - C- / He's been pretty bad, but I think it's an injury.. nothing else really makes much sense.
Couturier - B- / Has struggled at times this year, but that's obviously because of his absolutely absurd usage.
Raffl - B / Played very well before his injury, since he came back nobody has been able to do anything so I don't fault him for not keeping it up.
Lecavalier - F / Hurts the team in many ways.
Bellemare - C+ / When given chances on higher lines, like with Schenn and Simmonds, he looked pretty good, but then Berube buried him to accommodate his favorite idiots.
Umberger - F / Not even useless, flat out detrimental.
VandeVelde - D- / Completely useless.
Rinaldo - D+ / He's had moments of decent play but they're few and far between.
Akeson - C- / Didn't do much but he was given exactly zero opportunities.
Laughton - A / He's impressed me a lot so far.

Del Zotto - B- / Was cold, then hot, then kinda lukewarm. He can move the puck and is good in the offensive zone.

Hextall - B- / Some questionable decisions but overall he's being patient, which is what I want.
Homer - A / hasn't traded any young forwards for bad defensemen this year, which is an improvement.

Couturier - B- / Has struggled at times this year, but that's obviously because of his absolutely absurd usage.
Raffl - B / Played very well before his injury, since he came back nobody has been able to do anything so I don't fault him for not keeping it up.
Lecavalier - F / Hurts the team in many ways.
Bellemare - C+ / When given chances on higher lines, like with Schenn and Simmonds, he looked pretty good, but then Berube buried him to accommodate his favorite idiots.
Umberger - F / Not even useless, flat out detrimental.
VandeVelde - D- / Completely useless.
Rinaldo - D+ / He's had moments of decent play but they're few and far between.
Akeson - C- / Didn't do much but he was given exactly zero opportunities.
Laughton - A / He's impressed me a lot so far.

Del Zotto - B- / Was cold, then hot, then kinda lukewarm. He can move the puck and is good in the offensive zone.

Wow, B Schenn has gotten two Cs so far. That's really harsh, he's finally starting to settle into LW and is on pace for 60+ pts. Last yr that would have put him ~10th in the league among left wingers.
I also notice Coburn getting horrible grades which I'll admit he deserves but many have Grossmann with the same or better grade. I feel like people are holding some to higher standards when they probably shouldn't be.

B. Schenn - B+ Slow start where he looked like he wasn't gonna progress, but he has clicked at LW and is starting to improve in his previous trouble areas, like winning battles and carrying the puck.
Simmonds - C+. Started strong, but has settled back into the usual ES troubles.
Read - D. Something here has taken a serious step back and it's hard to place why. He's less effective along the boards and his passing has fallen off a cliff.

Coburn - F. Fat Slob. I'm hitting him hard. I get that he's in over his head, but he's flat out awful all year so far. Offense has somehow regressed more.
L.Schenn - D. Too one dimensional. D group has too many dmen of his ilk.
Colaiacovo - Incomplete. Berube insists on benching him instead of Grossmann, because Berube is a fat slob.

Emery - S. Satisfactory. Why? Because he is exactly what we knew he is, a guy with no hips who probably should be looking into coaching gigs. Not his fault Hextall signed him again. I admire his work ethic and never-quit attitude. I expect as the year goes on he'll just wear down more and more. But because of the way he goes to work, I just can't call him a Fat Slob.
