Not really. Hate him all you want, that's intelligent coaching.

No event hockey, get the SO, 2 points and out of the rink. There is nothing to be gained from running up the score and giving them a reason to run around the ice, or for when these teams meet again. That's almost a perfect period for the coaches. The game was over 10 minutes into the 2nd period.

This kind of thinking has cost the team more games than I can remember to bad teams over the years.

No it really hasn't. When was the last time we played a team that actively looked like they were trying to get their coach fired?

When you have 3 goals in the bag and the other team are so poor they don't even pull the goaltender, there is absolutely nothing to be gained from going balls to the wall and lighting them up.

Sure there is. You get used to finishing games instead of building a mindset of complacency.

NAK has gotten really good at running the Detroit "non" interference pick where he puts himself between a player and the puck so his teammate can get it. It's a play he sometimes seeks out; he will dump it off and then play the man who had been blocking him while he had the puck. Linemate gets it and possession/pressure resume.

Exactly. They have about 4 forwards/2 defenseman and literally a tweener in net. Until they develop depth and have goaltending that can bail them out of games they will remain where they are.

They’re still paying for the shit drafting outside of top 5 picks all these years. Olofsson is really the only big draft win they’ve had over the years outside of top 5-10 picks. Even beyond that they’ve struggled to draft guys who could even fill the bottom of their roster either.

The Edmonton method.

If Ghost can keep his game going like this it is going to be a huge help. He clearly belongs on the Top Powerplay unit. With that said we still need another top 4 D. If you read Tony A's article from earlier today which indicates that it's unusual for Nashville to be scouting the phantoms especially this season, it seems to me that maybe their might be something behind Pierre's mention of Ekholm.

Couturier is a beast. Love watching him play.

Solid win. Team looked not quite as sharp as yesterday but got the job done. Lots of contributions up and down the lineup.

Gonna be interesting to see how AV shuffles the lines with TK coming back.
