IIRC Giroux was being covered more tightly. I think it was the correct play to go to Patrick

There was a defenseman clearly in the way, he was clearly waiting for Patty to make it 3 on 2. They worked it so he had a wide open shot in the slot and passed the f***ing puck. You couldn't really ask for a better 3 on 2 look than that
