Pavelski tripped, but no call. Refs have had a rough first game.

What a snipe, jesus. Defense clearly didn't expect that.

No need to drift to the outside and leave the guy in the slot for a wrister.

I suppose that's a fair assessment, but isnt the defence supposed to default to playing the puck carrier? i suppose its a moot point now :D

Anyhow, Let's blow this shit back wide open!
with Roope out, this is a good time for the big boys to show up

Man watched that battle in front the entire PP, that was rewarding to see Faksa score.

You can't let the Avalanche bench continue to watch video replay for 5 minutes. Either they are going to challenge or not. The official spent way too long at the bench listening to the assistant coach discuss it while the head coach watched replay after replay on the booth.

How long are you going to let them decide? They should get about 10 seconds and the ref should then skate away.

im on the avs feed and they are just bitching to no end here that its a stars penalty .. so eye-rolly

After review it was determined that this should be a bs challenge .. Avs take a double-minor penalty THANKS

Even if the language is vague, the refs made the right call. This is like so many other rules, i.e. toe in the crease/offsides determined by a microscope/etc

His stick is broken on the first shot obviously, but it doesn't bend until after he shoots it in the net.

This is like glove in the net with the puck, yes it's in, but we can't prove it.

Situations like this are when technology and the review system become a complete joke. The Avalanche are over there watching the replay on repeat on their Ipads on the bench for 5 minutes while the assistant coaches upstairs are also watching and the ref just stands there and waits for them to decide.
