Thanks Woodhouse for the GDT

I was at the first Bruins/Sabres game at The Aud in December of 1970 and I love your city.

Here is the Bruins board version which is weak because our regular GDT creator is in Manila on business so I filled in.

WAYBACK MACHINE

BOSTON vs BUFFALO, LIFETIME SERIES

The Bruins and Sabres are meeting for the 282nd time in their histories with the Bruins having a 131-110-29-11 record and 907-897 scoring edge in those games.

The Bruins are 77-44-14-4 in their 139 home games of this lifetime series with a 496-407 scoring advantage in those contests.

The Bruins are 8-1-2 in their last 11 games vs. the Sabres with their lone regulation loss in that stretch a 6-3 loss in Boston on Dec. 26, 2015, and they are 13-4-3 in their last 20 overall vs. Buffalo … They are 4-1-2 in their last 7 games vs. the Sabres in Boston and are 9-3-3 in their last 15 home games of this lifetime series.

Fun Fact: The Sabres are the only team the Bruins have never swept in a season series.

TONIGHT’S GAME

The Bruins host the Sabres tonight in the 1st of 3 games between these teams and the 1st of 2 Sabres visits to TD Garden this season … The Bruins are 6-5-0 thus far this season and are 1-3-0 on home ice … They are 3-2-0 vs. Atlantic Division teams and are 5-4-0 vs. Eastern Conference opponents this season.

The Bruins open their 2nd of 14 sets of back-to-back games tonight, as they will travel to Montreal to face the Canadiens tomorrow …They enter tonight’s game with an 0-1-0 record in both games 1 and 2 of those sets this season.

They are playing game 2 of their 1st of 16 sets of 3-games-in-4-nights this year … They lost the 1st game of this series with a 5-2 setback to NY Rangers on Saturday.

MILESTONES APPROACHING

Boston’s next win will be the 400th of Claude Julien’s Bruins coaching career.
Zdeno Chara is 1 assist shy of his 400th NHL assist.
Torey Krug is 4 assists shy of his 100th NHL assist.
Jimmy Hayes is 5 points short of his 100th NHL point.

INJURIES (29 total man-games lost)

Anton Khudobin – Upper body; Approx. 3 wks (IR)
Kevan Miller – 10/11 hand surgery; Approx. 6 wks from time of surgery (IR)

Screw the Bruins.

I was at that game. It was my wife's bday. When Lucic ran Miller, a Boston fan next to me said to his son "that's how you play hockey" and he high fives his dad.

I have ALWAYS hated Boston but that took it to an entirely new level of hatred.

I went to college in Boston. To say I hate this team, and it's fans, is an understatement. As long as we win, I don't care what the score is. Too bad Jack isn't playing so he could put up another 4 point night against them.

Not feeling a win here. Hopefully they can pull one out, but I'll say 4-2 Boston.

@BuffNewsVogl -

Dmitry Kulikov and Tyler Ennis, who missed practice Sunday, are two of first Sabres on ice for morning skate.

Sabres' optional skate has just Baptiste, Moulson, Carrier, Ennis, Kulikov, Girgensons, Ristolainen and Nilsson.

Nobody relevant in action tonight, so a win tonight puts us in the wildcard spot, knocking out Toronto. That would be a nice screen cap.

5-4 Sabres.

Ennis (x2), Moulson, Ristolainen (x2)

I know that trading away Nikita Zadorov was necessary to pick up Ryan O'Reilly. However, for years I have said to myself, I can't wait till we are the ones that can bully around the loser Bruins.

Zadorov was a big part of that for me.

All you have to do is look how quickly he jumped in when Girgensons took the late cheap shot against Tampa Bay a couple of years ago.

I still await the day that all hell breaks loose against this team and we have the right guys on the ice for it.

I hate the Bruins more than any team in the NHL, and that's a fact.

I would like to see Carrier/Girgs/Reinhart for an entire game if possible. Though I doubt it happens. Carrier/Girgs have games that utilize speed and aggression with straight line play. It meshed well on Sam's goal. They both were just looking to move the puck forward and get it to the net. Which is in contrast to Ennis' style of play. Not a knock on Ennis just pointing to the difference.

I'd like to see that as well, though I've liked Reinhart - Ennis. I think Girgensons also plays better on his off-wing, so possible Carrier - Reinhart - Girgensons?
