Unfortunately, Vancouver has again ignored the obvious need for a full out rebuild.
Instead, they are spending futures for the now.
So let’s go all in.

Available
11 overall
2 3rds
Hogs
Podz
Garland
Boeser
Pretty much any winger not name Kuz or Miller

Looking for <25 defensive dman to partner either Hughes or Hronek.

Last year the Isles made the deal they did, so it’s possible. I think a lot of Vancouver fans would be open to it. The problem is, teams rarely trade these guys, and you almost have to draft and develop them. It’s even hard trying to think who would be available.

You want to have some fun and not rebuild go for EK. That’s 2 defensive pairings with different handed highly talented offensive players. PK would a treat to watch.

EK is terrible on defense ,
Vancouver will get scored on easy with these 2 together.

I would hope they keep the pick and take BPA. We need some guys on ELC's moving forward as well can't be paying the stars top dollar and then having scrubs filling out roster. Depth matters and we need it. We've got Hughes and Hronek already so we need 2 defensively minded partners for them that can keep up somewhat. That should definitely not cost the 11th pick especially in this years draft. Hopefully as off season progresses we can find a team in cap trouble that needs to unload someone happens every year we just need to be patient.

Kaiden Guhle is probably the closest in value to what the Nucks would look for. Don't see teams trading those types of players.

Is 28 close enough?

If you want a D to play with Hronek, we've got an Olli "The Hronek Whisperer" Maatta at a bargain price of $3M/yr for 2 more years.

Below are the stats of the Wings' top 4 up to the day that Maatta got pneumonia and missed a couple weeks. For whatever reason, even when pairings weren't working, Lalonde never put the two back together.

For reference, here's the stats from the rest of the season with them separated.

If the Bruins had a younger less good and cheaper RD to jump in, but in your efforts to MAYBE get a future top 6 center you have just opened another hole while Pasta is in his prime and McAvoy is about to hit it. Just don’t see the Bruins moving Carlo unless they are getting a young center back.
I would move Carlo for a mid first so fast your head would spin. He is meh good but meh.

Ummmmm, if we go for EK who are the “2 defensive pairings”?

Hey you guys are the ones who want to go for it instead of rebuilding. Figure it out
Lol, you’re the one who posted if we go for EK we’ll have 2 defensive pairings

I’m not a proponent of going for EK in the slightest, that’s your suggestion

I mean, it would probably never happen, and 11th is obviously too much, but Broberg would make sense. He’s buried under LD depth in Edmonton, he’s done very well against lesser competition, and could probably play on the 2nd pair on a team whose window isn’t open yet and could give him more minutes.
