Didn't the Canes hit like 3 posts? Shouldn't those be reflected in the chart? This is super interesting by the way.

What is "iron?"

You answered your own question.

As for there being only one, as opposed to three, a couple of possibilities. If it hits the goalie and then the post, the announcer might say "off the post", but it would count as a shot. Or the announcer might think it hit the post, but the 'official' might see it as a clean miss.

Or summum jes messin wit yo head.

It was explained further up... that chart is 5v5. Another was posted for PP with the other two post shots inclusive.

Team was pretty terrible. Basically looked exactly the same as last year. Gave up a ton of shots and zone time, and then gave up a goal in the final minutes.
I do not understand how the hell Leddy can get beat to so many pucks when 99.9% time he is the fastest player in the game.

Saw things like most of you here, what with so many shots against and some sloppy individual play, especially in the puck control department.

Just as concerning were the amount of cute, little errand passes that turned into Carolina possession and either failed dump attempts or just plain passed up dump-ins at moments when getting the puck deep would have been ideal and of benefit for the team.

That really hurt to see, because that's just individual failure and not getting the job done. I just don't get why most of these guys don't stick to the KISS principle?

Unfortunately, it looked a lot like many of last year's games. Trotz has a ton of work ahead of him.

This said, good on Greiss for putting in the type of performance we'll need to see from our goalies 55+ games this season if we're gonna be able to stay within an earshot of a PO spot.

Nonetheless, I'm still looking forward to seeing this work in progress.
