We have 7 good Dmen, so we pretty much cycle our bottom 4 Dmen through. Not performance related. Coburn will sit next game, Cernak the next, Sergachev the one after that.

We kinda have lots of capable defensemen so we rotate them to keep some legs fresh.

When Strålman went down with an injury, Cernak was called up and ended up being terrific. So when Anton came back, the bottom three defensemen have begun a rotation. Coburn, Sergachev and Girardi take turns sitting. Good for Coburn and Girardi to get some rest and Sergachev can use the occasional break to watch and learn.

BTW - the league needs to fix that. If you score on a 5 on 3 (majors excluded), it should be over.
