Unpopular post time and this is not a knock on this kid whatsoever..

But..

How long into the game does KM get pulled from 1st pairing and JJ/ADA replaces him?
Or if Kakko has a few rough shifts PDG switching spots with him.

Yup. People forget if not for covid they probably would have missed the playoffs. They finished 1 point ahead of us and we beat them 3 out of 4. They have a very good coach and took advantage of the 4 month layoff to make a run. We have way more high end talent and a much better prospect pool. In a few years we will be light years ahead of them.

Because of the playoff there are experts picking them to finish first, give me a break.

After the way KK finished last season, I'd be really surprised honestly.
I think he shows up strong now that he knows what he has to do.
But we'll see..

Ditto..In the back of my mind I just don't think this kid is ready yet.
Hope I'm wrong but if I'm not then they're rushing him which isn't good.
They should've learned that lesson with LA, Kravstov by now etc..

Let's hope he's improved his stamina and he gains some serious confidence playing with an elite player. Still feel he has the tools to be a very good power forward with amazing hands.

JANUARY SCHEDULE // AROUND THE LEAGUE

QUOTES TO NOTE:
The biggest thing for me is just learning. Obviously, this next level, it’s hard. Everybody is good.
I think just learning from the older guys that have been through it, just picking up little things to work on has been huge for me.
It’s been a long offseason, so watching a ton of film, hitting the weight room and just trying to prepare myself for the season is kind of the mindset I’ve had.
- K'Andre Miller
We have a great team. I think it’s fun to watch and hopefully my game is fun to watch.
I feel so much better right now than last season.
- Kappo Kakko
Regardless of who’s playing with Panarin and Strome, and right now it’s Kakko and he and I have talked about what he needs to do, but we need it from everybody.
We need more of an in-your-face, staying on top of people, defensive conscientious approach to have success.
It can’t just be one guy on a line, and I don’t think those guys will have to sacrifice offense to do that.
I’m certainly anticipating that’s how they’re going to approach it.
- David Quinn

You know.. This also puts big time pressure on Trouba.
He gets put into a #1 role and has no help on the other side, nevermind the forwards.
I just don't get the logic behind a lot of these decisions..

Maybe JJ but I’m thinking ADA is staying on the right side. I wouldn’t really want to move my 60 point defenseman.

And a fighting major. I rather not have our top-9 players sit in the penalty box for 5 minutes

JD wants to get tougher to play against.
That doesn't come without fighting at some point.
More scrums, more fighting for ice.
Get used to the idea which has always been a major component in hockey since day one..

Have your depth players fight then.

ADA seems to have a chip on his shoulder about defensive deficiencies though.
DQ only gives him 5 mins and plugs in a college greeny?
Ahh..
