Yeah, you have to go at Marchand, that way you can put the 31st-rated PK on the ice.

Marchand has been doing this stuff for his whole career, do you honestly think that Johnsson or anyone else 'going after him' is going to stop him or dissuade him in any way?

That said, yeah, make the effort, but don't take a penalty doing it.

Plus, I saw the moment the Ty Smith meme-able moment with Marchand happened and it looked more like Marchand took a dive to try and draw a Penalty on Ty.

LOL, Im watching the NESN replay and you guys arent kidding-- Edwards just butchers these pronunciations.

I swear the god this was the first time I had to listen to him full game. All I could think is how did this guy even get this job, nevermind the homerism and laughing when Boston guys run over Devils players (legal or not), but the slow delivery, awful “jokes” and the fact that he can’t even pronounce the names of their players.

Actually it was a VERY good defensive performance and unless they were counting by twos I find it hard to believe Boston had 40 shots.

If there were, not more than a handful were from dangerous areas.

And there were few, if any, second chance opportunities.

Wedgewood was good. He had plenty of help.

It’s also a very low bar to clear when people describe the defensive performance as good despite allowing 40 SOG. We win when our goalies play well, that’s pretty much the story of the season so far.

I actually always appreciate views that temper our expectations... or at least temper MY expectations.

Perhaps Bahl and Okhotiuk won't be impact players, but they could fit what we need. I think players like Murray and Kulikov helped our D this year, and we're hoping one or both will be their heirs.

Think the potential is high for both. As well as some of the others in the pipeline.

I go back to something Mark Dennehy said over the summer when talking about Maltsev, Sharangovich and the other forwards that have impressed. It was in the middle of their second AHL season where they really seemed to click and put things together.

Yeah, he's unlistenable for opposing fans. Even a lot of Bruins fans don't like him.

Actually I like him (I’m somewhat frightened to say). I think he and his sidekick give credit and criticism where due and generally give us good insights when breaking down the action, adding stuff or summing things up in ways that add perspective to what I’m seeing. As I’ve been stuck in quite a remote spot in northeast New England for the last year (can’t believe it’s a year) I’ve had quite a lot of chance to watch those guys. (But gosh I can’t wait to get vaccinated and get back to NY - really I think Chico is the gold standard and I preferred Chico even to Doc). They are generally quite appreciative of NJ lately.

Yeah, I appreciate that. I should say that he is most unlistenable when things heat up like they did with Washington the other day. He was also particularly annoying with Jack Hughes early on with all the "welcome to the NHL" stuff when Jack couldn't generate anything against McAvoy and Carlo types. But to your point I have heard him say some good things about the team too.

Yeah they got pretty into the Wilson hit and then Boston blowing them out. Their perception at the end of our game that Bergeron may have some nagging injury was interesting. That they are calling these games from a studio and not in the arena is another new angle.
