Storylines for the Game

th

Mikko Koivu has not played since January 4th and while the team has performed well, they have not been nearly as good as they were when they had their leading scorer. Koivu should be returning in the next few games, and the team will be better for it. Jared Spurgeon should be coming back soon as well.

Anaheim-Ducks2.jpg

Just a few short days ago, the Anaheim Ducks were featured in the Stadium Series at Dodger Stadium. They've had a few days' rest and should be firing on all cylinders. They are second in the league in goals and have been supported by some pretty good goaltending lately. The Wild are going to have their hands full.

Darcy-Kuemper-Brace-Hemmelgarn.jpg

Since coming up for the latest time, Darcy Kuemper has been quite impressive. He has won five out of eight games, has only let in three or more goals three times, has posted a shut out, and has A bunch of other cools stats I don't feel like averaging right now. But he's been good.

getzlaf-perry-620-thumb-620xauto-280532.jpg

Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry are two of the best forwards in the game right now. Both players are over PPG and are leading their team to being #1 in the league. The Wild are going to have to shut them down if they want to win this game. Thankfully, if these two are kept of the scoreboard, the rest of the Ducks team is less than impressive. Great GDT. 5 AM start? Hell yes.

This will be a tough game. Ducks are really good and we usually crap the bed when we play them.

4-2 Ducks.

Getzlaf 2, Koivu, Bonino

Parise, Granlund

Good GDT!

My only request is.... Please don't let Perry be one to score on us. I always get a little sick when he does.

Not a lot of faith in this game; just going to be real about it. Ducks are douchbags, sure, but they're stupidly good... And even better at home...

Just show up to play and give a good fight.

AMAZING GDT!

I dont know why, but i have a good feeling for this game. The ducks have been for a long time or nemesis, but not today. (insert Herb Brooks pun here)

Wild win 3-1.

Nice GDT =)

Have to defend the Ducks a bit in the fact that most games its our depth that has won it for us. Sure Getzlaf and Perry are having great years, but they often get shutout against elite teams, but so far our depth has won them for us. We don't really have a fourth line, instead its more like 1, 2a, 2b and 2c in terms of icetime.

Here's hoping for a good game, two of my favorite teams playing!

^ The Ducks are such a monster team this year... It is far beyond just Perry and Getzlaf.

I would love to see the Hawks and the Ducks in the playoffs, with the Ducks kicking the hell out of the Hawks. As much as I hate the Ducks, that would be pretty entertaining...

I love the GDT. Thanks for it!

I think if we play like we did against SJ in the first period of that game, we will keep it close. I said it earlier, I would be happy with a point. I think we either keep it close, get a point or even grab 2, OR we get blown out in embarrassing fashion.

Having said that, Zach's fresh and his presence on the ice (as assistant captain) is very contagious. I hope the younger players just follow Parise's lead and we'll be okay tonight.

I'd love to be optimistic about this one, but I am not...

I guess we could always hope for Anaheim to overlook us and come out a little sluggish without the pomp and circumstance of their last game!

God this would be a huge game if we can win.. I would even take a point. Have a slightly optimistic feeling about this one even though the last two weeks we have played on Tuesday nights we lost 3-0 to the Senators, and 4-0 to the Stars.

3-2 Wild
