So some music update:

-Primus put out a new EP yesterday. Will give it a listen this upcoming week.
-Kirk Hammett's EP drops today (Happy RSD by the way!)
-Toro Y Moi is next week
-Warpaint, Kendrick Lamar, !!!, and Cave-In all have albums in May

The biggest news is Viagra Boys who some of us have spoken about here have a new album in July. That's so old school The last album was early 2021 so they probably used pandemic time in Sweden which didn't have shutdown to write and record. I used to love when bands would be active, touring and found a way to sneak into the studio for a few weeks and knock out a new album while their chops and creative juices were actively flowing.
God, Cave in. I haven't thought about them in a looooong time. Beyond Hypothermia was a great record. This is fun: It's Steve from Cave in playing the song Cave In by Codeine, which is the band's namesake, and one of the best "slowcore" bands EVER.

I've become a big fan of Stephen Brodsky in the last five years. I always like Mutoid Man (saw them open for Danzig in 2017) but had no idea how he was associated with Converge and now Quicksand.

I guess this is music/show related? If you guys/ gals enjoy (the everyone older than 40?) punk rock starter band The Sex Pistols the hulu show is actually good. They fly through the story but its shot really well and way better than most band adaptations. Its based on Steve Jones’s autobiography. I recommend.

With the Rangers eliminated, my daughter wants me to take her to the Sirius XM Octane show in Charlotte. Wolves At The Gate, Rain City Drive, From Ashes To New, and Memphis May Fire. For $22...nothing better to do.

Paul Cook's daughter Hollie Cook coincidentally has her new album coming out this Friday. She's been one of my favorite singers the last 10 years. Like Reggae and Pop-Reggae.

Haven't heard Dream Theater in like 20 yrs!

They've become kind of formulaic which is crazy considering how talented and diverse their songs are.

It's basically turned into a "will they/won't they?" real life drama getting back together with Mike Portnoy.

Porcupine Tree has a new album out on Friday. I spent a lot of my 20s listening to Richard Barbieri in Japan so I was drawn to them.

It's a 3/4 reunions as the bassist is not back.

link up with @UnSandvich

my dad ended up going even though he wasn’t feeling well so I don’t get to see them this time.

He and I have seen Tool and APC a few times together, but he didn’t know I was moving back to NY when he bought his ticket so he only got one. He’s a huge fan. He’s seen Puscifer as well and I think visited Maynard’s ranch in AZ as well.
Just had front row for Puscifer in PHX last week!!!

Went to Jerome and drank some Caduceus wine, Puscifer the store... hiked Sedona...

was AMAZING!!!!

Saw a complaint on Reddit that it made Johnny look like an asshole, which had you even heard of Johnny Rotten before that day?

Found out I lived in the same dorm as Nancy Spungeon at University of Colorado (twenty years later).

Puscifer are funny. I saw them at Coachella 2013 and they put on a fun show. Did a very strange cover of Accept's Ball To The Wall.

I just discovered these guys while I was away on business in arguably my favorite music store in North America (Sonic Boom--Toronto......to be fair I have not been to Amoeba since they moved). Post Punk.

Ironically, the day I got back they played a reunion show in Brooklyn but I was too fried to go.

I don't know why, but they immediately made me want to listen to this:
