Easily Hyman. Better overall player at this point in their careers. Oilers have a Tavares like player (good 2C/great top W) in Nuge right now.

Hyman for sure. Not only a better fit on the Canucks as a tenacious complement to one of the top lines, he’s simply the better player at this point. Tavares has really slowed down, particularly 5v5.

Not alot of stats that show this season's Tavares ahead of Hyman. Forget contracts, this year Hyman is just better. Although it isn't exactly fair to compare the Oilers' 3rd best player to Toronto's 4th best player. If it was Willie Nylander, it would be a coin flip.
