basically anyone other than parayko who is over 26 should be available. we have vrana, kapanen, blais, and scandella heading our cast of mediocre rentals, middling vets, and other assorted spare parts that we would love to move.

our non-rentals could be more desirable. we have multiple top 4 d who could be had, as the whole here is much less than the sum of the parts, obviously krug (he has been much better this year, fwiw). but also leddy or faulk. i expect the team will move 1 of those 3, if not at deadline at least by draft.

buchy is the prize among our forwards, but hayes could help someone who can provide him with better winger than vrana, kapanen, and blais.

Due to injury, TB has called up quite a few prospects lately. Definitely a "let's see what we've got" stretch, and it could mean a busy deadline either way. If TB isn't firmly in a playoff spot by the deadline, we might see some bigger moves.

That said, it could also end up being more of a showcase if the Lightning continue to win. Several of the young guys look very NHL ready and could be dangled if TB wants to go on another deep run.

If the Penguins need anything, it would be a depth defenseman. Preferably an RD. Someone like Luke Schenn from a couple of seasons ago should suffice, though ideally slightly younger.

Habs: sell as much as possible.

Allen trade should happpen sooner than later, as long as Kent is reasonable. Monahan should be sought after by teams missing on Lindholm. Savard is playing his best hockey in (?) and would be interesting for a contender as well (especially retained). I would also love to see Matheson and one of our young Ds (Barron/Harris) traded but these are probably draft day discussions.

New Loving Homes for Scandella, Kapanen, and Blais.

And Just a new home for Vrana.

Hayes, Leddy, and Buchnevich may be available to a new home, but, their movement is much less critical for this trade deadline.

Dallas:

We need another D-man who can kick Hakanpaa down the line with our D rotation. Hanifin, Tanev, Walker...ABH (Anyone But Hakanpaa).

More importantly, they need their best players to Consistently be there best players. Miro (albeit injured for some of the year) just looks very good, not Norris level or grear. Otter has been pretty subpar across the board (~30th in sv and gaa) and while Wedgewood filled in admirably, he’s been even worse. So many 1-goal games that don’t always work out should be decisive wins

But yea. A quality RD to replace Hakanpaa

Devils :
Need a non shit goalie
Everyone to get healthy .
Use a Time Machine to go back to the offseason and trade for Hellebuyck .
Check in on the cost to get Markstrom. He’s about the only goalie that might be available that’s worth spending assets on . Rest of the goalies out there are too big of question marks .

Nucks: A Need For Speed.

Preferably as a Top 6 F.

Kasperi Kapanen is.......fast.

Jets IMO:

Ideally

Quality 2C - Lindholm level of quality
Two way Top 4 RHD, solid defensively, solid on the PP/PK

Failing the above options:

Bottom six center who can PK & good on face offs & plays wing & good defensively
3rd pairing defense depth, solid defensively

Sounds like Marco Scandella is just the guy you're looking for!

After our recent 1-8 run, after going 11-3 post Evason... I'd say it's time to panic and sell. this is the year to tank ... it's not like MN is going to make the playoffs anyway, so why not?

Trick is that Guerin gave out a raft of NMC's before the season started, so every trade is contingent on the player waiving. Retention possible on expring contracts, less possible for longer ones due to miserable cap situation next year. Without further ado;

Fleury(NMC)3.5M(UFA) - good backup, playoff experience.

Merrill (1.2Mx1)- take him for a box of day old Timbits.

Goligoski(NMC)2M UFA - two day old box of Timbits

Mermis 775K- Cheap, not bad as a 6/7D. 5th?

Middleton - has been playing top pairing minutes due to injuries, but is ideally a 4D. Tough, decent defender, will jump into play on occasion. Signed for one more year @ 2.45M. Late 1st/early 2nd.

Spurgeon(NMC) - currently injured, should be back in a week or so. Signed for three more years at 7.5M. 1st, but his contract status makes it highly unlikely that he will be traded before the summer, when his contract turns into a NTC, at which time EDM should be sniffing around him.

Bogosian(NTC) - has been surprisingly ok, and healthy, so far. Big RHD. 850K expiring contract. 3rd/4th? No warranty!

Marcus Foligno (NMC) - signed for 4 more years at 4M. OK player, but because of his contract is worth less. A team like Buffalo should be all in on him. They can drive across the border and get a fresh box on Timbits, and maybe throw in some of those Raisin Tea biscuits only available in southern Ontario.

Ryan Hartman(NMC) - 3 x4M(1.7M this year). Might actually be worth his contract. One of those PITA player who you hate till he is on your team. Skates well, good shot can play C/RW. Plays up and down lineup. Late 1st/early 2nd.

Zuccarello(NMC)- 2x4m(6m this year). Mid/late 1st.

Duhaime - expiring(UFA) 1.1M. Big fast 4th liner. 3rd?

Maroon (NTC)- expiring 800K. Playing well this year. PLayoff experience is the stuff of legend. 3rd.

Freddy Gaudreau(NTC) - 4 x 2.1M. Good speed, two way play. 3rd line C, decent on FO's. 2nd.

red wings need a goalie and be able to trade reimer and husso(or ltir but apparently he's skating again)

I have been wanting markstrom. Will be happy with vejmelka. People keep talking about gibson, so I guess him too.

A goalie combo of Markstrom/Lyon would be exactly what the doctor ordered

I don't do the team fan thing but I'll chime in for the Canucks.

They need another C for the middle 6 to allow for Miller to stay on that top line more regularly and allow for the ladder of players up and down that middle 6 role. Someone that fits that age range for them. Say, Zagras, Fabbri, Rasmussen, Kotkaniemi, Krebs, Glass or even Laughton. Who all fit the age range and area of term that team needs.

Another 4-6 D would also be a huge benefit to them.

But the most important thing is for their team to NOT overpay for a rental based on one year in which they are playing at such a high level. They're a team that will need every pick to hit as well as the benefit of skilled kids on ELCs to come in and supplement their core and cap hits.

Detroit needs:

To trade Ghost and call up Edvinsson
To trade Fabbri and call up Berggren

No buying regardless of playoff standing. Ship off Perron and Sprong if we're not realistically in the wild card bubble.
