Habs have like a solid 1-5 and then a bunch of guys interchangeable between 6-15

Slafkovsky
Guhle
barron
Roy
farrell

would be my top 5

Then there’s a slew of mid rank guys Norlinder, struble, messar, Harris, Mailloux, beck, Heineman, Hudson, primeau, mysak, xhejak

Probably just me again, but I'm confident in Owen Beck and I'd have him third, ahead of Barron.

For the CBJ

1. Kent Johnson, F
2. David Jiricek, RD
3.(tie) Corson Ceulemans, RD
3.(tie) Denton Mateychuk, LD
5. Nick Blankenburg, RD

6. Kirill Marchenko, W
7. Daniil Tarasov, G
8. Guillaume Richard, LD
9. Stanislav Svozil, LD
10. Dimitri Voronkov, F

My Jackets list today would be

1. Kent Johnson, F
2. David Jiricek, RD
3. Corson Ceulemans, RD
4. Denton Mateychuk, LD
5. Liam Foudy, F
6. Kirill Marchenko, W
7. Daniil Tarasov, G
8. Nick Blankenburg, RD
9. Dimitri Voronkov, F
10. Luca Del Bel Belluz, F

We are not too far apart. I am still pretty big on Foudy. His floor is an Eric Robinson type, and he still can develop into something more. I like Blankenburg’s game but I don't know how long he’ll last playing the game the way he does, so I am a little lower on him.

Are you lower on Guillaume Richard for any reason? I see a guy that could be a second pair shutdown type in a couple years.

Richard was one of the D men who my model thought was undervalued last year--his first year in the NCAA seemed to validate that.

No. He would be 11th or 12th with Svozil. I think we go 12 deep with likely NHL talent. Which is very different than a couple of years ago. I just like guys like Foudy and Voronkov better.

If you asked me what are defense will be in 5 years, Richard is definitely in the picture.

Werenski - Jiricek
Mateychuk - Ceulemans
Richard/Svozil - Boqvist/Peeke

Leinonen? Why’s Levi so high?
Levi is viewed by the majority of our fan base as our number one goalie prospect. He had a Hobey Baker caliber season this year. Obviously goalies are always a tough projection but outside of ideal size, he has everything else you look for in a prospect (imo).

Leinonen is raw and years away from from the NHL. Levi just had a historical college season posting 1.54 GAA and .952 Sv. Insane numbers. He also also had a fantastic WJC with Team Canada back in 2021.
He’s raw but rankings are supposed to factor in potential and project the future. Levi is small and will struggle at the AHL/NHL level in comparison. Great numbers but just surprised to see him listed ahead of 3 1st round picks.

Sure, understood but it’s weird to see him above three recent 1st round picks and your recent 2nd round goalie not listed (but list a 3rd round pick from this draft)

If any of those picks are sitting where Levi is two years after their draft it will be an upset. It doesn’t matter where he was picked he’s developed into a top prospect.

Definitely a lot of room for debate after the first 4. I think Perreault deserves 5 but I'm basically just listing names after that. Pastujov, LaCombe, Helleson, Clang, or Groulx could easily find their way into the list. Guys like Colangelo and Moore are knocking on the door as well.

I understand how prospects work. I’m just questioning his transition to the AHL/NHL.

In no universe is Mintyukov better than Zellweger.

Yurov dropped because of the Russian factor. He would otherwise be a top-10 guy. Why is he behind Faber and Ohgren on your list.

1. Slafkovsky (1st round pick)
2. Guhle (1st round pick)
3. Barron (1st round pick)
4. Mailloux (1st round pick)
5. Mesar (1st round pick)
6. Roy
7. Beck
8. Farrell
9. Harris
10. Primeau

I’m lower on Farrell than most and higher on Mailloux and Barron than most. Didn’t love the Mesar pick this year. Would have preferred Chesley or Lambert but what do I know

11. N. Foote (Hard to decide for the 10th so I added an 11th)
