I think Kinkaids a good goalie. I just think this team relies too much on how good Schneider is -- see first period against the Rangers -- but Kinkaid isn't that good and gets exposed because of that.

Yup, I agree with you. I think Kinkaid's deficiencies are overblown simply because going from Schneider's level to just a good goalie is a major step down.

Kinkaid is like most other NHL backups...not very good.

One thing that is odd is how much people praise Hedberg, and wish we had a backup more like him. Hedberg was below average for most of his career, and his performance in 12-13 was one of the worst I've ever seen by a Devils goalie. He didn't put up a save percentage above .900 from 2002 to 2009.

Kinkaid isn't good, but he's fine for a backup.
